THEY CALLED IT WASTE. JESUS CALLED IT A GOOD WORK.

Mary poured out something very costly.

And while others were calculating the price of the oil, Mary remembered her testimony.

They remembered the price.
Mary remembered the miracle.

She remembered what God had brought her through.

And sometimes people aren’t doing too much.

They just remember too much.

When you remember what God restored, what He resurrected, what He delivered you from, and what He brought you through, nobody should have to beg you to POUR.

But here’s where the message gets uncomfortable:

Why does somebody else’s sacrifice bother you?

Before you criticize somebody for “doing too much,” ask yourself why their worship, generosity, obedience, or sacrifice is provoking indignation in you.

And responsibility doesn’t always wait to be asked.

Sometimes maturity simply says:

I SEE THE NEED.
I CAN HELP.
SO I’LL DO IT.

Before you use your offense to examine somebody else…

USE IT TO EXAMINE YOU.

Your anger is not always telling you the truth.

Sometimes the enemy doesn’t need you to commit some dramatic sin. He just needs you to rehearse the offense until you’re angry enough to say something you can’t take back.

You replay what they did.
You replay what they said.
You build the argument in your head.
You convince yourself they deserve your response.

Then you finally explode and call it “being honest.”

But prudence makes you stop and think.

Does this response honor God?

Loving God with all your heart, mind, and soul means His Word doesn’t get thrown away simply because you’re tired, offended, angry, or “have something to get off your chest.”

And here’s the part we don’t always consider:

What if your aggressive words become part of someone else’s future wound?

You aren’t only responsible for what you meant.

You’re responsible for what you’re willing to release from your mouth.

Think beyond the moment.

Jesus is coming back. Your emotions don’t get to rewrite His instructions.

Sometimes the division isn’t around you.

It’s inside you.

You can love God and still wrestle with wanting your way. You can desire His purpose while fighting His process. You can ask God for access while selfish ambition is still demanding the throne.

This isn’t just about identifying selfish people around you.

It’s about examining yourself.

What happens when your ambition becomes more important than obedience?
What happens when your plans compete with God’s purpose?

Why do you have an attitude every time somebody says something you don’t like?

“They should’ve said it differently.”

“I feel like…”

“You need to consider how I woke up today.”

But here’s the uncomfortable part:

Your feelings may be real…

But they don’t give you permission to lose self-control.

If every disagreement turns into aggression, defensiveness, or a sharp response, Pastor Latoya says you’re in error.

Proverbs 10:19 says that when words are many, transgression isn’t far behind.

Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is…

SHUT. YOUR. MOUTH.

That’s prudence.

Thinking before you speak.

Considering the consequences before you react.

Because your mouth isn’t just capable of offending people.

Your mouth can offend God.

Stop letting every emotion become a command.

God said what He said.
