Playground Dedication 2026

Saturday we had nearly 60 people brave the cold temps to help us install the playground and mulch! It's amazing what many hands under skilled leadership can accomplish in just one day. Here is a fun timelapse of the project as it came together. There are a few details still to be completed so we ask that you continue to beware of uneven surfaces and fenced off equipment!! Thank you to all who showed up to help, whether it was building/installing equipment, moving mulch, or providing the crew with warm food and yummy treats! Thank you to the crew from Snider Recreation, Inc. - School and Park Recreation Equipment who helped provide leadership to this community project! Remember to join us for a dedication service on May 31st at 10am!

Did you know one of the best ways to raise your body temperature is physical activity?!?

We have lots to keep you moving and warm! Come join us Saturday, May 2 to help spread mulch starting at 2pm! Any amount of time or help is welcome, so layer up, bring a rake and come join in the fun as you warm up with friends!!

Lots happening these days in the life of Leesburg! Last week the youth took the inaugural trip in the new van to spread some love and good cheer to local community members with flowers and gift cards. The playground was delivered! And posts have begun to be installed. This week we will see lots of progression on the playground and are still looking for any available hands to help out Saturday afternoon (May 2) to spread 200 tons of mulch. If you find yourself without anything to do between 2ish and dinner time feel free to stop by to help!!!

Nearly 30 years ago the church was blessed to be the recipient of a new playground as the result of a local Eagle Scout project. Over the years other scouts and community members donated different elements to further expand the area. The playground has been well loved on by the children of both the church and community for decades. After many months of planning and fundraising we were excited to break ground on our new playground project this past Sunday! We are so grateful for those who generously provided for all we have had in the past and are just as grateful for those who have provided to make this new project a possibility. For those who are accustomed to enjoying the warm weather outside with us please bear with us for the next month as we clear the area of the old, prepare for the new, and install/complete finishing touches on the new playground! We look forward to having you play in our backyard with us again this coming May!!
