FOR LENT: GIVE UP YOUR HATE OF TRANS PEOPLE and LGBTQ Persons
As I attempted to write the other day, why do we need to separate men and women and make women subservient to men, or at least, just an aside? Trans women are targeted, in large part due to misogyny. Misogynists are afraid in their minds, I believe that Trans women represent the possibility of a man taking on a "lesser" status of woman and maybe to their fragile egos this a potential they fear will happen to them. I am unsure why misogynist women fear it. Perhaps it feels like yet another “competitor” in the delusion of the necessity to compete for men to marry? Misogynists rarely discuss Trans men because they don't want to acknowledge that someone could jump from "lesser" status to "manly" status...it's just not allowable. I'm not sure and I really don't care what the rationalizations are for their prejudice.
WHAT SHOULD MATTER TO CHRISTIANS is if we show up as the Christ for others. We are made in the Image and Likeness of God, who is neither male or female. It doesn't matter what our parts are....the question is....ARE WE SHOWING UP AS THE CHRIST to that PERSON? ARE THEY SHOWING UP AS THE CHRIST TO US? Not Jesus the male, but the CHRIST.
The argument next goes: But we shouldn't be changing the gift of the body, something that God himself gave us....REALLY? We do it every time we put clothes on, makeup, go to the gym, take supplements or put on perfume.
Conservatives CONVENIENTLY FORGET the ACCEPTANCE OF THE EUNICH INTO THE CHURCH by CHRIST AND PHILLIP: I bring up Eunichs because this was a way to reference in the ancient world across the Ancient Near East, Greece, Rome, and later empires, the term εὐνοῦχος (eunouchos) 3 MAJOR MEANINGS:
A. Literal castration, OFTEN BEFORE PUBERTY
B. A social category of “non‑threatening males”
Celebate men or who lived outside typical male roles
GENDER-NONCONFORMING MEN
C. A catch‑all term for gender‑variant persons, more than likely LGBTQ persons INCLUDING WOMEN WHO REJECTED MARRIAGE or lived in SAME S*X households were described as living “like a eunich” .
Matthew 19:12 — JESUS SAYS: "For there are EUNICHS who have been so FROM BIRTH, and there are EUNICHS who HAVE BEEN MADE EUNICHS BY OTHERS, and there are Eunuchs who have MADE THEMSELVES EUNUCHS for the sake of kingdom of God. LET ANYONE ACCEPT THIS WHO CAN.”
Acts 8:26–40 — The Ethiopian eu**ch is baptized by Philip, becoming one of the earliest converts of the Church. “The angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down form Jerusalem to Gaza.” …... So he got up and went. Now there was an Ethiopian EUNUCH….WHO HAD COME TO JERUSALEM TO WORSHIP and was returning home….and was reading the prophet Isaiah. Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over to the chariot and join this.”
And after explaining the passage from Isaiah and how it referred to Jesus, Philip baptizes the Eunich.
SO BIGOTS, STOP BLASPHEMOUSLY AND HERETICALLY USING CHRIST FOR YOUR BIGOTRY AGAINST LGBTQ PERSONS.
For those that say…but Paul said……EVEN PAUL SAID in 1 Corinthians 1:13-14 “Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?...Basically, we are not to be relying on just Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, but ON CHRIST ALONE.
IT’S PRETTY CLEAR…LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR….INCLUDES LGBTQ PERSONS
