Tri-City Bible Church

Tri-City Bible Church Join us Sunday mornings for our 10:30 am worship service. Jonathan Rourke serves as the Pastor at Tri-City Bible Church. We teach the Spirit-filled life.

He previously served as an elder and Pastor at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, and received is theological training (M.Div and Th.M) from The Master’s Seminary. We teach the Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is verbally inspired in every word, and absolutely inerrant in the original documents. We affirm the infallibility, sufficiency and authority of Scripture. We teac

h that there is but one living and true God, and infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each equally deserving worship and obedience. We teach the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We teach that the salvation of man, who is sinful and lost, is instantaneous and accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God when the repentant sinner – enabled by the Holy Spirit – responds in faith. This salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. All the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. As the supernatural and sovereign Agent in regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ at the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit also indwells, sanctifies, instructs, empowers them for service, and seals them unto the day of redemption. We teach the bodily resurrection of both the saved and unsaved; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the unsaved unto the resurrection of eternal conscious damnation.

Believers have a unique relationship with the Trinity. Through the finished work of Christ we are, as the hymn writer put it, “Alive in him, our living head, and clothed in righteousness divine”. Then, as spiritual infants we are given the body of Christ, so we can be equipped, matured, and buil...

Jesus said some shocking things during his earthly ministry. Consider this, “And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of worldly wealth so that when it fails, they may welcome you into eternal dwellings” (Luke 16:9).

At this point in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus turns to the practical application of his teaching. It is directed at the individual followers. The spiritual disciplines that they were familiar with included giving to the poor, public prayer, and regular fasting. Our disciplines today are a bit diff...

We’ve reached the end of this section of the sermon on the mount. Matthew 5:17-48 has placed before us a righteousness that far exceeds anything we can accomplish on our own. However, because we are in Christ, the Holy Spirit empowers us to live lives worthy of the gospel.

Matthew 5:17-48 asks you to embrace the good news of a gospel paradox. It highlights, explains, and then applies a righteousness that far exceeds anything we can comprehend is ours, and then explains it’s only because we are in Christ.

You are wrapped up in all he is, and all he did. As we’ll see tomorrow morning, the most important thing he did was fulfill the whole Law of God. He even allowed himself to be the perfect substitute for those who could never fulfill the Law.

In our modern way of thinking, we are hyper-focused on accomplishing tasks, getting things done, measuring progress, and moving on to the next priority. So, we might think that, if there ever was a group of believers with whom Paul didn’t need to spend time reciting the glories of the gospel and c...

Tomorrow morning we finish our study of the beatitudes. This is possibly the most remarkable one of all, especially for people like us who rarely suffer persecution from the world. It takes us face to face with a disturbing reality.

Tomorrow morning our focus will be on the seventh beatitude. Here, Jesus tells his followers that we are peacemakers. It means we are the ones who have the ministry of reconciliation. This requires the willingness to fight against anything that leads to war, strive, and division. A peacemaker will a...
