Come join us ! Roy Hensley is our Deaf Ministry ASL Interpreter and Lead. He accepted Christ Aug 14, 1972.

New Community Church Vista has a Deaf and Hearing Community of Believers with a goal to reach more Deaf for Christ and their families through our in person and online Ministry. He has been running Deaf Ministries since 1994. He is a certified full time ASL Interpreter and runs a local agency for the deaf since 1996. He has served in various church ministries for over 50 years. For more information please come and visit us on Sundays.

Our Deaf Ministry is full of Amazing people! Ruth (left) and Cynthia (right) are both ASL Signers. Ruth has been involved since Covid started (2019 or 2020 I believe), and Cynthia joined soon after!
Because of their love for the Deaf they both took ASL classes to communicate with our Deaf friends! They've sacrificed time and resources to make our ministry better! They re also great traveling partners when we do mini trips!
Theyre time with us has been Valuable. They both run other ministries in the church too. Theyre reliable, humble, patient and giving.
We couldn't do what we do without them! They make our church even more Deaf friendly. Oh ! And they both have led a Deaf friend to Christ too !

This is Noel, NP (left).
Noel is Deaf. Hes a rock star. He our most faithful Deaf. He attends every Sunday for church ! Every event hes there helping set up or break down! He shows up Sundays at 730am or 8am and helps set up our coffee cart, clean and set up. After lunch he comes back and helps clean and set up rooms for the weeks classes. We need more people like Noel! Thankyou NP, we are blessed to have you.

History behind our deaf ministry...

In 1991 the day before Valentines day Debbie Thurman died (deaf friend). She was 30 years old. We all attended Trinity Baptist Church in Jax, Fla together. Debbie had an undiagnosed aneurysm that ruptured at her home. Her deaf husband Jon tried calling 911 to get help but at that time 911 was not equipped to respond to a deaf call. By the time help came Debbie Died.

As God always does, He planned a future for many deaf to come to Christ as a result of this tragedy. Romans 8:28 says God makes all things work together for good to them who love God, to them are the called according to His purpose...Thank you Jesus for using this tragedy to help birth 10 new deaf ministries planted in Southern Cal since 1991.

Since 1991 we have personally lead over 10,000 deaf to Christ in one on one evangelism. We now set our focus on New Community Church of Vista. We started at New Com Church Vista in April 2018. Since then we have seen over 300 1st time visitors, close to 50 deaf have accepted Christ to date and we were averaging close to 30 each Sunday before Covid 19. Now with Online Services we are now reaching thousands across this country. What a blessing !!

God has been good to us as we reach the deaf one soul at a time and encourage others to do the same. Thank you for praying for this ministry. Let us know how we can help YOU!
