Dear SBA Pastors,
A few weeks ago, our Director of Missions, Nestor Amaya requested a letter of
encouragement for our SBA pastors. I was hesitant to say "yes" because I felt like
the Apostle Paul when he wrote, “For I am the least of the apostles and do not
even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God” (1
Corinthians 15:9). As you all know, I “did not” literally go around persecuting
churches, but I felt like Paul because I am still the rookie on the team. I am also
the youngest pastor in our association with very little experience.
Nevertheless, I gave in to my servant’s heart and said "yes" to Nestor’s request.
Opportunities don’t come around very often, so I will take this chance to share the
little experience I have with you. I’d like to start by quoting the scripture from
Galatians 6:9, which says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in
due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” As pastors, we have the highest
calling, because we are not just serving our communities but, by the grace of God,
we have the privilege to serve the highest being in the universe, who lives outside
of time. And His name is Jesus! What’s even more beautiful is that we have the
Holy Spirit living in us, amen! So let us not grow weary while doing good
because we know that the reward is waiting for us.
At the beginning of this year, I had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with the
Lahu people in Thailand. The planning committee of the International Lahu
Christian Conference invited me to be one of their keynote speakers. What’s even
more exciting is that the trip was fully funded by another Christian family outside
of our church. Praise the Lord! The video is uploaded on YouTube if you’re

I truly believe that God is working in our SBA churches. Last month, God led
seven individuals to declare their profession of faith in Christ at Lahu Baptist
Church. When we honor God’s name and give Him the glory, good things will
happen in our churches. Therefore, my brothers, let us continue to pray for one
another, embrace our cultural differences, lift up each other’s faith, keep fighting
the good fight, and soon we will reap the true blessings that God has planned for
us!
