St. Paul The Prospector Episcopal Church St. Paul's does not have an active congregation. The church is open periodically for tourists. We are actively restoring the church. Founded September 1, 1861, St.

If you are interested in donating, please contact us. Paul’s in Virginia City is the mother church of all Episcopal churches in Nevada. The church is an historic Carpenter Gothic-style Episcopal church building located at F and Taylor Streets. It was built in 1876 to replace an earlier church that had burned down in 1875. Paul’s Episcopal Church is a contributing property in the Virginia City Hist

oric District which was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

Painting and repair of the siding on the west and south sides and repair of the stained glass windows on the south side is complete. Thanks to the Commission for Cultural Centers and Historic Preservation for the grant to do this work. We will be applying for additional grants to do further work on the building.

Repair work and painting of the south and west sides of St. Paul the Prospector Episcopal Church in Virginia City has begun! A grant from Nevada State Historic Preservation Office and the Commission for Cultural Centers and Historic Preservation was received to do this work. Thanks to SHPO and the CCCHP! Reyman Brothers Construction is doing the work.
