From Vision to Action

Between gatherings of the General Synod, the Leadership Council serves the ongoing life of the Church.

Its role is practical and pastoral—ensuring that what is discerned in council becomes lived reality in parish life, mission, and administration.

This is where vision becomes action.

Not as a replacement for synodality, but as its servant.

The Church is always moving, always living, always building.

Today, the United States pauses to remember with gratitude and solemn reverence the men and women of the Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to others and in defense of peace, liberty, and the dignity of the human person.

On this Memorial Day, we offer our prayers for the fallen, for the families who carry the weight of loss, and for all veterans and active service members who continue to bear the burdens of sacrifice.

As Orthodox Catholic Christians, we remember that love is most fully shown in self-offering. We commend to the mercy of Almighty God all who have died in military service, praying that He grant them rest where there is no pain, sorrow, or sighing, but life everlasting.

May we never forget the cost of peace, and may we labor always for a world shaped by justice, compassion, and reconciliation.

Memory Eternal! Eternal be their remembrance!

Lord, hear the prayer we hold within our hearts. You know our worries and our pain, our hopes and all that we do not yet know how to express.

We ask You today; remain with our families, bless the sick, walk with those awaiting answers, and strengthen all who are losing hope.

We also give You thanks, Lord, for this day, for the gift of life, for those we love, and for all the blessings we so often overlook.

Saint Charbel, man of silence and deep trust in God, intercede for us in your humility and peace. Present our petitions before the Lord, and teach us to wait in faith, to live in peace, and never to turn away from the love of God. Amen

Saint Charbel, pray for us.

“God’s love is stronger than all our weaknesses.”
— Saint Paisios of Mount Athos

How often we become discouraged by our failures, passions, fears, and spiritual struggles. We look at our weakness and imagine that God must surely grow tired of us. Yet the saints remind us of something deeper: the mercy of God is greater than our brokenness.

The Christian life is not built upon perfection, but upon repentance, humility, and trust in the love of Christ. Even when we fall, we rise again through prayer, confession, and the grace of God. The Lord does not abandon the struggling soul that turns toward Him with sincerity.

Saint Paisios understood that every human being carries wounds and battles unseen by the world. But he also knew that divine love has the power to heal what sin has damaged, to strengthen what has grown weak, and to bring peace to the restless heart.

No darkness is greater than the Light of Christ. No weakness is beyond His compassion.

May we never despair of God’s mercy, but continually place our hope in His love, which “endures forever.”

Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen our hearts, heal our infirmities, and teach us to trust completely in Your boundless mercy. Amen.

The Voice of the Whole Church

Our General Synod of the National Church gathers bi-annually, together clergy and laity in shared discernment.

This is where the whole Church listens and speaks.

Here, decisions are prayerfully considered, direction is discerned, and the lived reality of the Church is brought into unity.

It is not symbolic participation—it is real participation.

The Church listens because the Holy Spirit speaks through the whole Body of Christ.

At the heart of our Church’s spiritual life is the Holy Synod of Bishops.

The Synod is entrusted with safeguarding the faith, preserving apostolic teaching, and ensuring unity across the Church.

Their role is not power for its own sake, but stewardship—faithful guardianship of the mysteries of Christ.

In the Orthodox Catholic understanding, authority is always exercised as service.

The bishop does not stand above the Church, but within it.

Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, the United American Orthodox Catholic Church joins with people around the world in rejecting hatred, violence, bullying, and discrimination directed toward LGBTQ+ persons.

As Christians, we affirm that every human person is created in the image and likeness of God and is deserving of dignity, compassion, safety, and respect. We grieve the harm caused by rejection, cruelty, exclusion, and violence, and we pray for healing where wounds have been inflicted by families, communities, institutions, or religious bodies.

The Gospel calls us to love our neighbor, to defend the vulnerable, and to stand firmly against hatred in all its forms. Whatever our differences, there can never be justification for dehumanization, abuse, intimidation, or fear.

On this day, we pray for peace, understanding, reconciliation, and the flourishing of every human person. May we continue striving to build communities marked by mercy, truth, justice, and Christ-like love.

“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God.” (1 John 4:7)

With great joy and prayerful anticipation, the United American Orthodox Catholic Church announces the historic Apostolic Visit of His Beatitude, Nicholas Anthony Hash, Major Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Americas, to Mexico from June 23–30, 2026.

His Beatitude’s delegation will be led by the Canon to the Archbishop, the Very Reverend Angel del Rio of SRA Ministries, USA in Dallas, Texas, who will assist in coordinating this important apostolic mission.

This apostolic journey comes at a particularly joyful time, as the Church also gives thanks for 31 years of faithful ministry and service by His Beatitude, whose leadership continues to guide and strengthen our growing ecclesial family.

The United American Orthodox Catholic Church is not defined by a single center of authority, but by the life of the Church itself—gathered, praying, and discerning together.

We are an autocephalous Orthodox Catholic Church, living in the apostolic tradition and guided through synodality rather than centralized rule.

We are synodal. Leadership here is not about control, but the communion of the Eucharist.

Ever wondered how our Church is led? Stay with us as we walk through it.
