There are a lot of hearts in our pews this weekend...
To those who are celebrating their first Mother’s Day, and those who are celebrating their last.
To those who are grieving a mother, and those who are a mother grieving a child.
To the women who long to be mothers but find their arms empty.
To the foster and adoptive mamas who love with an open hand.
To those who have a strained or broken relationship with their family.
To those praying desperately daily for their child to return to the faith.
To the "spiritual mothers" who have mentored and raised us in our faith.
Whatever you are carrying into service on this Mother’s Day, please know there is space for you here.
Motherhood isn't just defined by biology: it’s defined by the love, wisdom, and prayer you pour into the lives around you. This Mother’s Day, we honor the mothers, the grandmothers, the aunts, the teachers, and the mentors.
We also hold close those for whom this day is difficult or heavy. Whether you are in a season of "full nests" or "empty chairs," we pray that God’s peace covers you today. May you feel the comfort of the Father and the warmth of this community. You are seen and you are loved. 🌸
