Artist Allen Morse

Artist Allen Morse Painter, draughtsman, visionary. Victim of squirrel treachery.

Devoted Christian, Nazirite, half-crippled, hairy, clumsy, inappropriately cheerful wookiee with a maddening lack of dignity or pride.

True story:

When I took geometry in high school, I was horrible. I didn't even attempt to keep up with the class, and at the end of the year my geometry teacher gave me a passing grade just so he wouldn't have to deal with me over the summer and, possibly, the following year as well.

The following year I started at the Governor's Magnet School of Visual Arts. Although the instruction was excellent-- especially compared to what we would have received in a normal high school environment-- we never, not once, discussed composition, let alone armatures and painter's geometry.

Flash forward from 1988, to 2016, and somewhere within this morass of lines lays a painting. It's my job to find it. Dammit.
