"Let the children come to me..." -Matthew 19:14
At FPC we put a high value on children. This page will serve as a space to help resource families with faith based opportunities in the church and while at home. As the Director of Christian Education, I see it as my responsibility to partner with families as they teach the faith to their children/grandchildren. Faith education shouldn't ju
st happen on Sunday mornings at church. Faith must be taught at home and on a daily basis, as well. Research shows that the parents (not DCE's, Youth Directors, or even Pastors) will have the most influence on a child's spiritual life. We need to show to our children that being a Christian is a way of life verses communicating that it's just an activity we attend on Sundays. I plan to use this page to help share ways in which you can participate at church and as well as help your child to spiritually grow throughout your daily life. Scripture reminds us...
Deuteronomy 6:4-15
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Worship at FPC:
8:30am (in the Chapel) 11:00am (in the Sanctuary)
Nursery:
Do you have an infant-toddler? Our nursery provides opportunities for children to be loved and nurtured by trained childcare givers and volunteers. We offer a warm and safe atmosphere in our nursery for children to lean, live, and grow in our Children's faith from the moment of birth. Parents may watch their children's interaction through a one way window in the hall outside our infant nursery in room 131. Our Toddler Nursery can be found at room 144. What is W.O.W? This is an age appropriate, interactive opportunity for children ages four through second grade to learn about and experience worship. Following the Word for the Children, volunteers welcome and lead the children in a 20 minute WOW. Children rejoin their parents during the hymn after the sermon to experience the rest of the service with their families. Sunday School for Children (9:45am-10:45am)
