Guess what Sunday is?? That's right! Pentecost Sunday! (How'd you guess??) We commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and followers of Jesus Christ, an event that birthed the early Christian Church. It is celebrated exactly 50 days after Easter and the term originates from the Greek word pentekostē, meaning "fiftieth". Join us this Sunday and wear something red if you like!

We welcome you to join us this (or any) Sunday! 302 Sixth Street, Vinton, Virginia (Corner of Sixth St & Vale Ave.) Curb parking along both Sixth and Vale and also in the grass lot across Sixth from the church. Street level entrance to the church at the ramp on Vale. We have a chair lift between floors in the church. Come as you are! All are welcome!

Good morning everyone! Pastor Brian here. I Just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to the church family for surprising me with a presentation, a card and a bag full of gifts & goodies last Sunday for my 25th anniversary here at the church.

I began my music ministry career at my first church in 1984 and was there for 3 years. I was at my second church for 14 years and then came to FCCV in May of 2001, so 42 years in ministry total. I am currently the longest serving minister of FCCV surpassing Rev. Wolford who served from 1920 to 1936. I am also currently the longest Pastor in tenure in District III of the Christian Church (DOC) after Rev. Lee retired from Loudon Ave. Back in 2016.

I am humbled and honored every week to be able to share music, God's Word and guidance with you all. In my 42 years of ministry I have performed scores of weddings and officiated over 400 funerals and have preached over 1,300 sermons (just at FCCV alone) With God's grace and strength , I plan to continue to do what I'm able to do as long as I'm able to do it.

Whatever you’re carrying today — worry, fear, uncertainty, heartbreak, exhaustion — God is bigger than all of it.

That doesn’t mean the battles aren’t real. It doesn’t mean the pain magically disappears overnight. But it does mean you do not walk through it alone.

God sees the road ahead when we can barely see the next step. He is still in control when life feels chaotic, still faithful when we feel weak, and still working even in the waiting.

Take a breath. Pray. Trust Him with the pieces you can’t fix yourself. The same God who carried you before will carry you again. ❤️ Happy Friday y'all!
