This was a 5th Sunday, therefore, instead of a spoken sermon, we asked the congregation to share their favorite hymns and we sang 2 verses of as many as we had time for during the usual sermon portion of the service. We invite you to join us any Sunday if you live in or around the Roanoke Valley. Come at 9:30 for coffee, tea and fellowship followed by our worship service at 10 a.m. Parking available at the curb along Vale Ave and also 6th Street and the grass lot across 6th from the church. We have a chair lift at the 6th St entrance for those who need it and a direct ramp into the sanctuary at the entrance at the rear of the church on Vale Ave. If unable to make it in person, video is available on our YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/fccvinton Everyone is always welcome!

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. as we explore "Overcoming Barriers."

In Matthew 15:21-28, we meet a Canaanite woman whose persistent faith broke through barriers of culture, prejudice, and expectation. Her story reminds us that God's grace is not limited by the walls we build or the obstacles we face. Together, we'll discover how faith can help us overcome the barriers that stand between us and the life God desires for us.

Come a little early at 9:30 a.m. for coffee, refreshments, and fellowship. It's a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet someone new, and prepare your heart for worship.

As we do each year, we gather school supplies for Herman L. Horn Elementary and we stock our blessing box with some supplies as well. In addtion, we donate a sizeable gift card to the school to use later in the year on whatever need may arise. We believe the children are our future and we are glad to support their education!

Jesus never waited for people to "get their lives together" before inviting them to come. He welcomed the weary, the doubting, the broken sinner, the joyful, the searching, and the faithful. His invitation is still the same today.

At First Christian Church of Vinton, you'll find ordinary people from all walks of life seeking to follow an extraordinary Savior. You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to look a certain way, dress a certain way, or have a perfect past.

As someone once said:
"No one should feel that they're so good they don't need to come in, and no one should feel they're so bad that they can't come in."
