I hope everyone had a blessed HolyDay week and weekend.
I want to thank everyone who attended A Night to Remember for their generosity and support. Was concerned about the new venue, quite different from the prior venue, but it worked out so well and we had so many compliments on just about everything. There were a couple of hiccups, people didn't show up, last minute emergencies, etc. but we will make every effort to make sure this is all taken care of next year. I dare not thank just anyone person because I would hate to miss someone. We will be starting, actually have already started preparing for the one in 2027. Currently, it is set for March 20; however this may have to be changed but will keep everyone posted after our initial meeting in May. will also post what we made during the event. We are always open to any new ideas and suggestions. We will let you know when the May meeting will occur and if you weren't involved this past year, please make arrangements to get involved this next year.

To those who have given donations/offerings for our 40 year anniversary, thank you so much. All donations are going towards a new/newer van, which we need.

May God Bless you all.

We have recently found out there is another Way of the Cross Ministries which is located in New Orleans and is only a church. We are Way of the Cross Ministries-A City of Refuge, which is the difference and is the legal name of the organization; however, we often d/b/a A City of Refuge. As a side note, A City of Refuge is maintained describing what the shelter was to its founder, a place for those to go who were unjustly accused or where they could escape harm. Thank you all, just so you'll know. May God Bless.

Sometimes God just shows up, He'll send someone in time of need, whatever that need might be. If you pray, remember you are talking to God, expect Him to answer and don't accept those who think you're crazy or a fanatic, do what He says and expect His best!!! And the biggest thing, don't ask for the least, He's a Mighty God, cares for His children and wants the best for them, not second best, THE BEST!!!

During this holiday season please remember those who have lost loved ones, are having financial, emotional or other issues they are dealing with. The following is from a friend's FB page, she lost her husband in 2023, he was a good friend of Burt's and was our guest speaker at ANTR in 2014, John Steer, look him up, a veteran of the Viet Nam War:
"Was working around the house - I stopped in my tracks and sat down and just went down memory lane...All I can say is it wasn't pretty. I think I cried for over an hour with memories of what this time used to be for me and how it was filled with such love and anticipation - and now it brings back memories of the reality of emptiness and sadness.
So I would like to remind you that there are people for whatever reason are not looking forward to Christmas. Some people are not surrounded by large wonderful families.
Some of us have problems during the holidays and are overcome with great sadness when we remember the loved ones who are not with us any longer.
For many it is their first Christmas without a particular loved one and many others lost loved ones at Christmas. And, many people have no one to spend these times with and are besieged by loneliness. We all need caring, loving thoughts right now..."

When you can't do anything else, pray.

I have just been asked if there is anything that we specifically need. The answer is yes!!! Our last washing machine, after several attempts can not be repaired. We have always been blessed by those donating their gently used machines to us. So, if you are planning on getting a new washing machine for Christmas, please consider donating your working used machine to us. It will be most appreciated. May God Bless
