Good Morning! In my quiet time this morning I read from Exodus and wanted to share what jumped out to me to encourage you this week. It appears to me that Moses felt unworthy to step into God's purpose for him to deliver the people of Israel. Moses gives many excuses to convince God He has called the wrong person, and God graciously and patiently continues to assure Moses as he refutes every excuse Moses gives. In chapter 6, God tells Moses to go before Pharaoh and tell him to let His people go. Moses responds and says, "How will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am of uncircumcised lips?" (vs. 12). As I thought about that, I related to his doubt and question....God, I've done things in my past that make me unworthy to be used by you....I'm not good enough....people know the 'real' me and have judged me...I'm not like so and so....
The uncircumcised lips reminds me of another passage....Isaiah 6, verse 5-7. Isaiah answers the call to be used by God but recognizes he is lost and a man of unclean lips. An angel retrieves a burning coal from the altar of God and touches Isaiah's lips with it, thereby atoning his sin and removing his guilt. I love that picture.
Praise God for His redeeming love and grace that looked down through time and provided us all atonement through the blood of Jesus Christ! We all have sinned and fallen short of God, but God demonstrates His love for us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us! And we are His workmanship, created in Him to do works which He has prepared in advance for us to do.
Praise God that He has taken away our guilt, atoned our sin, and has a great plan and purpose for each one of us. I only need to walk confidently in the belief that I am God's girl, saved by grace...He loves me and has called me to do great things for Him. I can do it, without excuse, because He does the work through me. I recognize His power at work within and through me, remain humble in heart, and praise Him for His ultimate deliverance!
May you live out your purpose and calling with confidence, humility and joy today ladies! Have a great week!
