Have you been feeling like you’re trapped in a kind of jail?
Like you’re not in control, but some outside “jailer” dictates your every move?
Maybe you’ve even thought: “If I ever get out of this, I won’t go back to those same mistakes again.”
Spiritual jail is tough — but sometimes it’s allowed for a purpose. It can be a safe place of reflection instead of letting you continue unchecked down a path that leads to destruction.
But here’s the good news: you’re not alone, and the prison has a purpose.
As we step into the Hebrew month of Elul, we are reminded of the 40 days when Moses went back up Mount Sinai after Israel’s sin with the golden calf (Exodus 34). It was a season of repentance, retrospection, and renewal.
So I have to ask you:
Have you drifted from covenant with Messiah this past year?
Have compromises crept in that pull you away from His presence?
Elul is a month of mercy, a time to return, repent, and prepare our hearts for the King. This is the season to take inventory:
What has drawn you closer to Yeshua this year?
What has pulled you further away?
Repent, reset, and prepare for the Bridegroom’s return.
Elul is the open door of mercy before the door of judgment closes.
It is a time of intimacy, awakening, and preparation.
The Bride must make herself ready, for the King is not in His palace—
He is in the field, waiting to meet with us face to face.
One of my favorite verses for this season is tied to the very name Elul:
“Ani l’dodi v’dodi li — I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.” (Song of Solomon 6:3)
So don’t stay locked in spiritual jail under the control of the jailers of this world.
Live free in the One who has set us free.
Live in covenant.
Live in love.
Because He loves us and gave His life for us — and He’s coming again.
Love you all!
