Would you consider joining our City's efforts to help people in Jamaica?
The City of Vineland and Vineland First Wesleyan Church have come together to support the victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Mayor Anthony Fanucci shared, “Both myself and members of the community wholeheartedly welcome the opportunity to assist Jamaica. I encourage anyone who can to contribute in any way they can to help the nation recover. The people of Jamaica are facing many challenges right now and truly need our support.”
Upon learning about the situation in his homeland, Pastor Basil Watson was deeply moved and began reaching out with hope for relief. He expressed, “Once the hurricane has passed, my family, my church, and I are committed to doing all we can to help revitalize Jamaica. We warmly invite people from all communities to join us in supporting our Jamaican brothers and sisters during these difficult times. I care deeply about my country and its people—when they are hurting, I feel it too. We will do everything we can to provide help and support. I am grateful to Mayor Fanucci and the City of Vineland for their immediate willingness to take action.”
All monetary donations must be made payable to Vineland First Wesleyan Church and can be mailed or dropped off. We are collecting monetary donations, as well as toiletries, non-prescription sealed medicines, can goods, packaged foods, pots, pans, dishes kitchenware, soaps, cleaning products, clothes, bedclothes, assorted batteries, kerosene lamps, all types of phone chargers, baby formula, flashlights, lighters, water, tarps, and building tools.
On Wednesday, October 29, donors can start dropping off products at Vineland City Hall, 640 East Wood Street, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. On Saturday November 1, and every Saturday there after until further notice, you can drop off donations at the Vineland First Wesleyan Church located at, 406 West Wood Street, Vineland, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
