Dev of the Day for men:

Walk as a Man of Love

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If there is one word to describe God out of all the things to describe Him, LOVE is that one word. Everything wraps around God’s pure love. Ephesians 4 is a great pattern from Paul for us a men to live our lives. Verse 1 tells us to be imitators of God. So if the greatest description of God is LOVE then we should strive being like Him to be describe in our love. In all I do and the way I live if people know me and remember me for my love then I have done it right. With the good and the bad if I am known for my Godly love then I did it right. With my family, friends and strangers if I am known for my Godly love then I’m doing it right.

What should you and I strive for in each day and in situation? To love like God loves. We can’t go wrong doing it His way. Keep moving forward as a man known for your love!!

Prayer of wisdom and discernment:

“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

May God provide you with the wisdom you need in each and every matter. Wise discernment comes from aligning our lives in God’s word, surrounding ourselves with Godly influences, and using our practical and logical capabilities to determine the right decisions in the situations we face. my prayer is that you have wisdom from Him as you align yourselves in the pattern He has established.

Pure truth in His Word:

“Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We all search for the truth and purity in things spoken and communicated. As believers in God we can be assured that His Word is pure and completely true. It is here is guide us, build us and even correct us. As we study God’s word we must spend time in it daily, allow it to change and sharpen us in our thinking, and we MUST apply it into everything we have going on in our lives.

Live in it and by it completely daily. Don’t add to it, take away any part of it to match what you think, or try to use it in a manner that it is out of context for its true meaning.

Follow God’s Word and it will guide you to the power that God has inside it and through it.

Five aspects of following Christ:

“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As we daily follow the Lordship of Christ in our life an in every situation Paul tells us to set our focus on these things. We as the church, body of believers, must be one mind, one love, united in our spirit with the same intent/purpose. Our intent and purpose should and must be to follow the example of Christ!!

1) encouragement in Christ
2) consolation of love
3) fellowship in the Spirit
4) affection/tenderness
5) mercy/compassion

Building our life’s one these 5 components will allow us to lead and live as Christ did. Strive for the 5!

Walk in Salvation - Rooted & Built Up:

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Living and functioning in today’s world is difficult, which is an understatement as being a believer. But Paul calls and instructs us to Walk in the nature of Christ from a place of Salvation. Yes, if we have received Salvation through Christ then we are to live, function, and walk in an opposite way that the sinful world would dictate. That’s where the hardness comes from. The world works against the salvation lifestyle that we are called and directed to live. But in verse 7 tells us how to not only endure the hardness but to live strong and healthy in it. We are to be rooted in our faith & the word of God and be built up in every regard of ourselves to match the likeness and nature of Christ Jesus. Then we are to give thanks for the means and methods to conquer the nature of sin and function in the mode of Jesus.

Daily root yourself in the Word of God and build yourself to be ready for each and every encounter you will have to project and proclaim the life of Christ and the message of the Gospel.

We win the battles when we are rooted and built up in Christ!

Work in the present totally for the Lord!

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God has given ALL of Us a task to do each and every day. Call it whatever you want to; a job, your daily tasks, a profession, the grind. Whatever you have ahead of you in your day (life) God has given it to you. Look back into Genesis and understand that God planned and expected His creation to work and serve in the assigned tasks He gave out. So in Ecclesiastes King Solomon tells us to do our work/tasks, with our hands to the best of our ability and with all our might. This is echoed in the New Testament in Colossians 3:17 to do everything in the name of the Lord and give thanks for the work. So no matter what the task is daily, God has given you the opportunity through it to glorify Him in doing it with your best and with all your might. Your strength comes from God to perform and complete the tasks He has put in front of you.

Lead the way with all your might in the Gifts of serving each day, in each moment, and to each person you are in front of.

You are the Gospel and the minister of the Gospel:

“For it pleased the Father that in Him/Jesus all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It makes God happy and joyful to know that you have been given the means to have eternal salvation through Jesus. You are the Gospel of Salvation through the love and sacrifice of Jesus. You were once an alienated (removed) and an enemy of the pure and Holy God because of our sin and wicked works. But Jesus provided the reconciliation by paying the price you owed due to sin. Because you are the example of the Gospel you are now called to be the minister of the Gospel. Because of the gift of salvation you have verse 23 say as you continue in faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope (the Gospel) you should have passion, like Paul to be a minister of that Gospel message.

Be the example of the Gospel a the minister who presents, preaches and loves the Gospel to everyone.

Who needs to see, hear and understand the Gospel message of salvation from today?

Live the Gospel in front of everyone as if they will never see it from anyone else.
