IF Youth hosted their biweekly Soul Fuel: Purification of The Heart series last Tuesday.
Sheikh Hisham gave an important reminder on Seeking Reputation . Some important points from this talk were:
- COVETEDNESS: longing for the benefit of someone else
- If you commit an action to impress others out of selfishness or publicity and not for Allah (SWT), then there will come a time Allah will expose you
- The GREATEST reward is seeing the face of Allah (SWT) in Jannah, and to get this you need to do everything for Allah’s sake and his pleasure not for anyone else
- “ This Dunya doesn’t want you, the moment you stop chasing it, the moment it’ll come to you “
- Surah At- Taghaban: You think that something is good for you in this life, but it ends up becoming a loss later on in the hereafter. Vice versa can occur too where something you thought was a loss in this life can benefit you in the hereafter
- Shaytan can attack you by trying to interfere with your hereafter from right in front of you, or he can get you to commit sins and make you caught up in this dunya from behind you.
Just remember to do everything for the sake of Allah, for it is your creator who is the only one that can benefit you not anyone else. So take these reminders and these points and work towards your Akirah!
