St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park Loved by God, we grow, care, give, and share in Jesus’ name. St. Paul is an ELCA & RIC congregation. π–π„π‹π‚πŽπŒπ„! Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church!

Community stands at the center of our identity. We gather regularly around water and word that we may be prepared to serve the larger world community in which we live. Our mission is to be honest and genuine in the way that we experience and share Christ's love, both inside and outside our walls. Traditions help to inform our identity, but do not define who we are, as we seek to engage the ever-ch

anging world around us. All are invited to be a part of this unique community of imperfect people who seek to know and share God's perfect love and grace in Christ. Join us Sunday mornings for worship at 8:00 & 10:00. All are welcome!

As a community of the people of God, we of St. Paul Lutheran Church are called to minister to all people, knowing that the world is often an unloving place. Christ calls us to reconciliation and wholeness. Christ has made us one. We celebrate together our unity as God’s people. We welcome new visitors and old friends. We welcome people of every sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age and size, color and culture, socio-economic circumstance, marital status, ability and challenge. We welcome Christians from every tradition, people new to the faith or people of no faith, believers and questioners, and questioning believers. Paul welcomes you to celebrate and sorrow, rejoice and recover. This is a place where lives are lived and made new in Christ. St. Paul is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. ELCA Lutherans hold the following basic principles of faith and practice as set forth by Martin Luther. We are saved by the grace of God alone and not by anything we do. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone our sins are forgiven and we are given the assurance of eternal life. The Bible is the only authority for Christian teaching and Christian living. All believers in Christ are called to Christian service and all alike are God’s people. We celebrate the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. Together, as a community of faith, through worship, prayer, study, caring and stewardship, we strive to grow in faith and service to our Lord.

Listen to Sunday's message from Pastor Zak: "Top of the List" -- Faith can feel like a list of "do's and don'ts," when in reality it is as simple as love. In a world that can feel overwhelmed with evil, we must always hold fast to Christ's love at the top of the list.

Listen to Sunday's message from Vicar Lyndsay: "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" -- As Jesus promises to build his church on the rock of Simon Peter, we hear a promise of enduring love. Even through our flaws and the cracks in our foundation, the church will always prevail. The myriad gifts of St. Paul are proof of that.

Listen to Sunday's message from Pastor Philip Lund: "Belonging in God's Love" -- When deciding who is in and who is out, Rev. Lund preaches that we ought to make no distinction when it comes to belonging in God’s love. By God’s grace, we are all one people.
