This native azalea was planted by Betty Gregory at her cabin at Dooly.  The cabin was built in 1925 and she passed away in 1939, but her beautiful azalea continues to bloom every year.

Week Two of the NOMADS comes to a close as floor and door repairs are made. The dining hall deck door was installed 21 years ago by NOMADS and is being replaced today. Both projects were funded by grants of $2,500 from the NOMADS. Floor repairs in Motel 6 and Super 8 are underway as the last of the 100 bunk beds were assembled. Roofs were cleaned. HVAC vents were cleaned and filters replaced. All were done with a crew of four volunteers. We are grateful for the labor and love of our visiting missionaries.🥰

This week brought people together at Dooly Campground from around the state, country and world. A pastor and district superintendent from Southern Uganda preached a sermon Sunday at St. Paul Chapel. In attendance were members of the Hendley family whose ancestors founded St. Paul and developed the chapel in its memory in 1971.

At the same time, NOMADS from Maryland, North Carolina, and Oklahoma arrived to assemble 100 bunk beds. Their work was made lighter by 32 men from the Forge Recovery Center in Vidalia who arrived as the Andrew Chapel youth retreat was leaving.

Andrew Chapel had 65 campers — mostly youth and two made professions of faith. This annual retreat was a bit sad without Wayne Morrow, their pastor and founder.

Finally, the week ended with 22 male pilgrims on their Walk to Emmaus journey. Over 500 people came and went supporting this grace filled weekend.
