Saul wanted David to wear his armor to fight Goliath.

1 Samuel 17:38–39
Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head.
David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.
“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.”
So he took them off.

Sometimes we are convinced that we need to fight our giants the way " everyone else does it ".

The armor was not necessarily bad.
It simply was not right for David.
It belonged to Saul.
It fit Saul’s experience, Saul’s training, and Saul’s way of fighting.
David tried it, but he could not move freely in it because he had not tested or proven it.
So he took it off.
And he used the weapons with which God had given him victory in the past.

Just something to think about.

What if God has already given you everything you need to defeat your giant?

David did not arrive at the battlefield with a soldier’s résumé, Saul’s experience, or military equipment.
He arrived with:
• A history of God’s faithfulness
• Lessons learned in hidden places
• Skills developed through ordinary responsibilities
• Something familiar in his hand
• Confidence that God would be with him
David may not have looked sufficient to Saul, his brothers, or the army—but his sufficiency did not come from himself.
His sufficiency came from God.

TRUST HIM TO BE YOUR SUFFICIENCY TODAY!

David said this before he ran to fight Goliath
1 Samuel 17:37
37 The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you.”

David didn't forget his past victories; he knew that God would be faithful to him in this battle.

Hebrews 13:8
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Whatever you're fighting today, remember the same God who delivered you last time. Will deliver you again.

Control is the counterfeit of Trust.
If you're always trying to control the outcomes in your life and in your relationships with others. It's time to look deeper at how much you really trust God.
