Thanks to Phil Blount for emailing information on Alice’s memorial service, to be held June 8th at 3:00 at the Old Post Chapel on Fort Myers, followed by a graveside service and then a small reception at Spates Hall.
This is on post so military procedures will have to be followed to gain access to the base. Here are a couple useful web sites. The driver will need to pre-register 3-10 day before and everyone needs an id such as driver’s license or passport. The Old Post Chapel is where Norman's funeral was held.
May they both rest in peace.

Celebrate the life of Alice Clyne, leave a kind word or memory and get funeral service information care of Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park.

Our Council of Bishops remind us “Our Social Principles are clear: “We reject governmental use of threats, extortion, unlawful detentions, extrajudicial killings, and other forms of coercion to silence political opponents and those objecting to unlawful or immoral government policies and practices.” They further affirm that the church has both the right and the responsibility to educate and equip its members to be advocates for justice in the wider world (¶163D).

Sad to report John Charles (JC) Crouse passed over on August 17. Karen and family will hold a private remembrance service in Leyland, NC. - Wade
The published obituary:
John Charles Crouse, born on October 7, 1946, in Washington D.C., passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. He was 78 years old. A man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication, John touched the lives of many through his service, work, and enduring relationships.
John spent 30 years as a Federal Financial Advisor at the Department of Transportation, where his expertise and diligence were deeply respected. His career was marked by a commitment to integrity and a passion for helping others navigate complex financial landscapes.
Before embarking on his distinguished career, John served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Airborne Infantry and was a Vietnam Vet. His bravery and leadership during this time were emblematic of his character and dedication to his country.
A proud graduate of the University of Richmond, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics. It was in high school that he met Karen Woodward, his loving wife. As Presidents of their respective service clubs, they once planned to paint a replica of the White House. Though the project was never completed, their partnership flourished into a beautiful marriage of 55 wonderful years.
John and Karen spent about 30 years building a life together in Vienna, Virginia. They also lived in Connecticut and New Hampshire for around 11 years before moving to Compass Pointe in 2016, drawn by their desire to be closer to their son and his family.
John's love for the thrill of the outdoors was boundless. As a certified scuba diving instructor, he shared the marvels of the underwater world with countless individuals, instilling in them a sense of wonder and respect for the ocean. His spirit was equally at home among the heights of mountain peaks, the vertical walls of rock faces, and the hidden depths of unexplored caves. An avid paragliding enthusiast, John soared through skies, his heart as open as the winds that lifted him.
John's life was also enriched by simple pleasures. A quiet man at heart, he found joy in feeding a flock of ducks, which at one time numbered 54. Socializing with neighbors brought him happiness, and he once surprised Karen with a pet Cayman Alligator named "Arnie." Together, they shared faith and fellowship as members of Pine Valley Methodist Church for 7 years. A dynamic presence within his church, John sang in the choir, led worship with the band he formed, and gracefully guided others as a lead usher. With an endless love for music, he created piano instrumental pieces that graced many videos, offering a touch of serenity and beauty to all who listened. His commitment to service flourished through his leadership with Habitat for Humanity, where he brought people together to build homes and hope for those in need. As a member of the Masons, John embodied principles of integrity, friendship, and charity, enriching the lives of all who crossed his path.
Preceded in death by his parents, John Clifton Crouse and Ruth Ann Weser, John leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Woodward Crouse, his cherished son, Nicholas Shawn Crouse, daughter-in-law Lisa Marie, and adored grandchildren Allison and Joshua.
An intimate gathering to honor John's life will be held by his family at the Leland Chapel, entrusted to Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, located at 525 Village Road, Leland, NC 28451.
John Charles Crouse lived a life full of purpose, leaving behind a legacy inspired by love, service, and community. His warmth and wisdom will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know him. He lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, faith, music, and compassion. His journey is a testament to the joys of living fully and selflessly, inspiring all to savor each moment and give generously to others. His spirit will continue to guide and uplift those who carry forward his heart.
