With my wife and children we have a strong desire to minister to those that are in need and want a place to come and fellowship, without condemnation, with believers of all denominations. When I saw this church I fell in love with it and felt a call for the community. There are plenty of good churches in Vienna, but I hate to see old churches close. The church has a lot of history, and has been ar
ound for over 100 years. The members were few and decided that they could no longer keep the doors open. I was very hesitant, but God kept calling me to this church. For weeks I tried to talk myself out of this, but the more I fought it the greater God's call was. I went to the auction with intent to observe, to see who would purchase it, but God had other plans. When the auctioneer asked why I was interested in it, I told him that I wanted to minister to this community and have a place for the people to find Jesus. I want people to feel free to fellowship with believers without condemnation of their situation or past. A place that has no tradition, or denomination. A place that looks past their sin and offers hope and love to get through the difficult times. Like Jesus, when he spoke to the adulterous women, or when he spoke to Zacchaeus the tax collector,or the women at the well, or when he spoke to the people on the mountain. Everyday, ordinary, people with real struggles and needs, People who need someone to listen and not judge. People who need a little bit of faith to move the mountains in their life. After I told the auctioneer this, to my surprise no one would bid against me, and God's house would stay intact. I don't know what God has exactly for our ministry, or how far we will go, but I do know that were he leads, with the help of my wife and family, and some good friends, we will go!!! " Let us run with patience the race that is set before us."
