Quickly let's cover diagnosis. Identifying and giving a "name" to what troubles you is empowering! As the saying goes, "Knowing is half the battle!"

However these are not labels to be used as excuses or a crutch: that's not empowering. That's debilitating, and the opposite of what getting a diagnosis is for.

Ultimately, keep in mind that each of these classifications are primarily for the healthcare provider to know how to proceed and they could do so without ever sharing the results of diagnostic testing. They are medical evaluations for clinicians, more so than informing patients.

Vocabulary meant to help, not debilitate.

The knowledge is powerless alone, in fact without action it's useless.

Knowing without resources and the tools needed, just leaves life as it was before the diagnosis with the only difference being: Now you are informed as to why life is such a challenge without a pathway to resolutions.
