Reminder: All are welcome! Sunday, July 20th we will be celebrating Pastor Kolesar's 25th anniversary of his Ordination which took place on July 23, 2000. Service is at 10 am. followed immediately by a potluck dinner in parish hall. Come praise the Lord for 25 years of ministry and hear God's Word preached by Pastor's Pastor, the Rev. Randal Poppe.

We extend our Christian love and sympathy to the family of Maxine Happel who was called to her eternal home on March 17th.

Her visitation will be on Sunday, March 23rd from 4:00-7:00pm at Smith Funeral Home here in Victor. Her funeral is at 11:00am Monday, March 24th here at St. James with a luncheon to follow the burial around 12:30pm that her friends and family encourage you to attend. There will be a burial at Victor Memorial Cemetery preceding the luncheon.

We extend our Christian love and sympathy to the family of Dale Johnson who was called to his eternal home on March 11th.

His visitation will be on Sunday, March 16th from 3:00-7:00pm at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Home in BellePlaine. His funeral is at 11:00am Monday, March 17th here at St. James with a luncheon to follow that his friends and family encourage you to attend. There will be a private burial at Marengo Cemetery.

Dale Johnson, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 11, 2025, following a short illness. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine from 300 to 700 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, March 17,

Joint congregation (with St. John’s, Victor and Calvary, Deep River) Epiphany service Monday, January 6 here at St. James in Victor with Holy Communion. Service begins at 7:00pm with a soup and sandwich supper beginning around 5:30pm.

As a friendly reminder: Service for Calvary begins at 8:30am and service for St. James begins at 10:00am with Bible Study and Sunday School to follow at 11:15am.

Also, midweek Bible Study resumes this Wednesday, January 8th at 6:30pm.

FYI: St. James Lutheran Church page has been hacked. The perpetrator is contacting members with all kinds of scams. Be cautious. Pastor will be speaking to authorities and will look into how to manage the situation.

Here’s a few reminders/an update as we approach Advent season:

-Tomorrow evening November 27th is our Thanksgiving Eve Service at 6:00pm. Come worship and give thanks for all God’s bountiful gifts!

-Also, the ladies annual cookie walk is quickly approaching! If you’re willing and able, the ladies would appreciate each family donate 4-5 dozen cookies/candies for the cookie/candy walk! It will be at 8:30am Saturday, December 14th. Please have your goodies to church by 7:30-8:00am that Saturday morning. We appreciate your donations!

-Advent begins December 1st with midweek services beginning December 4th. Supper will begin at 5:30pm that night. Ladies Aid will be serving chicken spaghetti, bread, and salad that evening and church service will follow at 7:00pm.

-Lastly, keep your eyes open in the coming days for an announcement regarding Christmas Eve service and how the children will be participating this year!

-Finally, we wish you and your families a blessed Thanksgiving!
