“The main problem is the way complementarian theology and practice trains men to see women, and—maybe even more sadly—the way it trains women to see themselves. Be it ever so subtly, the message is that a woman is in some way less than a man, and thus has less to offer. With that subconscious mindset in place, no matter how benevolent and “honouring” men are to women, it will guarantee an undertone of paternalism at best, or superiority at worst, in the way men relate to women, and women allow men to relate to them.” – Julie Williams
