Abraham B. Reading 1814 - 1887
Born in Kentucky, he built his home on Jackson Road, it was later sold to the city and would become the City Hosp, Confederate Hosp, McPherson Hosp, and in more modern times Kuhn Hosp.
He was the owner of A.B. Reading & Bro Foundry. They produced cannons, artillery shells, caissons, etc. for the Confederate Army.
One of their cannons is on display at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Vicksburg. After 139 years his grave has been marked.
