Churches can’t out-entertain the world, but they can out-love and out-community it. The new “cool” is authenticity, a deeper mission, real hope, and actual connection.

There was an era when simply being a cool church helped churches reach unchurched people. That time is over.

Wednesday isn’t flashy. It doesn’t come with fresh starts or big finishes. But sometimes, that makes it the hardest day to show up and trust that God is still present in the grind.

So let’s take a midweek moment to pause, breathe, and invite God into the middle of your week.

This Wednesday prayer is simple and honest. It’s meant to help you reset your heart and mind. Whether it’s Wednesday morning or Wednesday evening, this prayer will invite you to connect with God’s grace, presence, and peace in your mid week day.

“Heavenly Father, as this Wednesday morning starts, help me slow down. Fill me with calm assurance and remind me that Your Holy Spirit is with me. Let me experience Your peace in the tasks, conversations, and interruptions that might lie ahead. Help me seek Your guidance and trust You no matter what happens today. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Before you dive into your day, center your mind on stillness and surrender. Take a deep breath and let go of any urgent to-do lists, anxieties, or distractions so you can truly listen.

A grounding, powerful focus for this morning comes from lingering quietly with the Word.

• Release Control: Surrender your day's schedule, your worries, and your need for certainty to God.
• Practice Gratitude: Acknowledge His faithfulness in the past and thank Him for His presence in your life right now, before you present your requests.

• Ask for Discernment: Pray for the wisdom to see the opportunities around you and the strength to handle whatever challenges the day may bring.

Take this moment to breathe and connect. Your quiet time is yours—embrace the peace of this day!

Psalm 46:10

"He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"

What it means: God invites you to step out of the rush, release control, and simply rest in His supreme power and peace.

2. For Experiencing His Peace and Presence
Philippians 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Pray now guided by the Spirit. By His Words, not by your own thoughts.

Amen

Update on Pastoral Care Network:

Update

Hi Brian-

Thank you for reaching out! I checked in with John Keesler on the status of the pilot modules. The videographer is wrapping up editing on the first couple of videos now and John’s module content is complete. He hopes to have the paired content available soon for a first review (though the precise date is still pending). You will definitely be the first to receive notice when the pilot material is available. Of course, we will understand if some participants are not available to review the pilot material when it is released, though we are hopeful they will find it interesting when it is ready.

Thanks,

Kyla
