2 Timothy 2:15 in the King James Version (KJV) reads: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

It is a call for diligent study and accurate interpretation of Scripture to gain divine approval.

Key Components of 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God": This emphasizes a dedication to understanding the Word, aiming for God's approval rather than human praise. The focus is on a process of testing and proving one's knowledge and faith, similar to refining metal.

"A workman that needeth not to be ashamed": A faithful minister or believer is viewed as a skilled, diligent laborer who can present the gospel without cause for embarrassment.

"Rightly dividing the word of truth": This phrase, often interpreted as "correctly handling" or "straightly cutting" the word, signifies interpreting the Bible accurately, avoiding false teachings, and preaching the gospel faithfully.

The verse is a core instruction to Timothy to avoid useless, argumentative debates and instead focus on sound, truthful teaching.

A Christian’s Life is Hidden With Christ in God:—Col. 3:3.

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

Instead of defining yourself by career, possessions, or social status, you root your identity in Christ. For example, when facing criticism or failure, you remind yourself: “My worth is secure in God, not in others’ opinions.”

Since the “old self” has died, you don’t have to be chained to past mistakes. This means practicing forgiveness—both receiving it and extending it. A person who once struggled with anger might now choose patience because their life is being reshaped by Christ.

Hidden with Christ means your values are shaped by Him, even when no one is watching. That could look like integrity at work, kindness in action or generosity when no one will ever know.

Because your life is secure in God, you can face uncertainty with peace. For instance, when finances or health feel shaky, you lean on the assurance that your ultimate life is protected in Christ.

You live with anticipation that what is “hidden” now will be revealed in glory. This helps you endure hardship with patience, knowing that present struggles aren’t the final word.

Imagine someone who loses their job. Instead of despairing, they remind themselves: “My life is hidden with Christ. My identity isn’t in this job, but in Him.” That perspective allows them to face the situation with resilience, hope, and even gratitude, trusting God to provide.

Are You Prepared to Meet the Lord? — “ ….. it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” (Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭27‬).

Jesus Christ will come again. The question is: are you ready?

Do you believe in Him?— Jesus said, “If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16).

Have you repented of your sins?— “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). Peter declared, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).

Have you confessed Jesus as the Son of God?— “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32). The Ethiopian said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God” (Acts 8:37).

Have you been baptized into Christ?— Baptism unites us with His death and resurrection: “We were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised… we also should walk in the newness of life” (Romans 6:3–4). “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:26–27).

Will you be Faithful?— “….. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
You do not need to know the exact time of His coming. What matters is being prepared. Why wait? Obey Jesus Christ today, and be ready to meet Him whenever He returns. MM

You Are What You Eat — And What You Think …

We’ve all heard the phrase, “You are what you eat.” It reminds us that what we consume physically shapes our health and appearance. But in a deeper, spiritual sense, we are also what we think. Scripture affirms this truth. Solomon wrote, “As he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). And Jesus said, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart” (Matthew 12:35). What’s in our heart inevitably comes out in our words and actions. Period.

If you are what you eat, how do you see yourself in the physical mirror? If you are what you think, how do you see yourself in the spiritual mirror of God’s Word? The Word of God doesn’t just reflect who we are; it reveals who we’re becoming. It shows us the condition of our heart and invites us to renew our mind. (Rom. 12:2). What we feed on—mentally and spiritually—shapes our identity, our character, and our testimony, with the goal of becoming more like Christ.

DO YOU HAVE A DIVIDED ALLEGIANCE?

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15.

There has always been and always will be a conflict between loving the world and loving God. When we give our affections to the world we are drawn away from God. Instead of loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we become deceived by a counterfeit love affair with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Where are you putting your affections? What will you choose to be attracted to today? If you find yourself being attracted to the world, change your mind and your behavior immediately; repent and return to your first love (Rev. 2:4-5). “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col. 3:2). Love God first, and always. When the love of the Father is in you, love for the world loses its grip.
