It’s been a minute since we’ve posted here—hopefully you've join us on the main GS page—but for those who’ve moved away or moved on, we wanted to share this: Christmas Around the Tree is this Sunday night at the 6pm worship service, and you are most welcome.

Whether your Advent has been well-paced or rushed, whether your faith is singing praise, crying out, or resting in silence—you are welcome. Come be part of a gathered community as we open our imaginations to possibility, fill the room with song, and lean into the truth of the season as it bumps into both our joy AND our sorrow..

The light is short, the shadows are long, and the Spirit—She is stirring and settling. It would be our joy to welcome your story into this sacred space.

This Sunday night is Christmas Around the Tree! If you're back in town, we'd love to see you! If you're out of town, join us online. Silence, song, scripture, and story all work on us by the power of the Holy Spirit. Please join us for this last sip of Advent sabbath. Stir up your power O Lord and come.

A Blessing for the End of Advent
And so we who wait,
Continue to wait.
But this wait is not empty,
It is not idle.
This wait is not vacant.
Or without precious value.
This wait is the container for the mystery.
This wait calls us to inhabit.
This wait invites us to imagine.
This wait asks us to incarnate

Peace, love, hope, joy.
This wait invites us to
agitate the worlds algorithms of enough
to awaken from the anesthesia of apathy
to abide in the abundance of galaxies, goodness, and grace.
With neighbor, stranger, refugee, and friend.

For we are all waiting.
And the way of God is wide.
And no wait is wasted.
And the morning will come.
The Light will come.

It's an unsteady day.
There is unsteady energy between, among, and within people.

Perhaps you're feeling that in your schools, in your homes, in your own heart even.

There is another source of energy within you. The Holy Spirit. Sit with Her today.
If you need to withdraw to breathe with Her a bit, do it.
Don't let the waves of human energy tumble you into the fray and out of yourself.

She bears fruit. Love, joy, peace, patience,kindness, gentleness, self-control. Go near those who bear that fruit.

People feeling lots of UN's in the world today - unsure, unsteady, unsafe, unaffected, uncovered....
But we have a God of RE's. Resurrection, Restoration, Return.

It's World Mental Health Day. If you're struggling, reach out. You're not alone, deficient, or being tested. You're beloved.

A Bessing for Mental Health

In our tangles and trauma.
Through the overwhelm and anxiety.
Amidst the effort and relapse.
We cry out.
Hear us O Lord, your mercy is great.

Keep us from shame and blame.
Of self and other.
Open us to gifts of medicine, counsel, and care.
And unexpected grace.

Open us - the church - up to be a place where those who suffer infirmity, wound, and illness of any kind,
Are held and kept safe
as the march towards health
Continues one day at a time.

And Jesus took the children in his arms and blessed them, laying his
hands upon them.” —Mark 10:16

Happy Earth Day! Here's a playlist and a psalm to capture your awe for this beautiful planet we call home.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of the Word and the impulse of the Spirit.

Day after day the skies pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
Their words aren’t heard,
their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth:
unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
And faithfully each day it comes out
like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies
from sunrise to sunset,
Melting ice, scorching deserts,
warming hearts to faith.

The revelation of GOD is whole
and pulls our lives together.
The signposts of GOD are clear
and point out the right road.
The life-maps of GOD are right,
showing the way to joy.
The directions of GOD are plain
and easy on the eyes.

These are the words in my mouth;
these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them
on the evening altar,
O God, Rock,
God, receiver of my praise.
