At the heart of MSPF is a simple mission: to fulfill the Great Commission by walking alongside the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania.

Since the 1980s, MSPF has partnered with Maasai communities to support Christian growth, church development, leadership training, education, and community-driven initiatives. What began through relationships formed decades ago continues today through local leaders, churches, and communities working toward a stronger future.

Our desire is not simply to provide resources, but to equip and encourage lasting growth that can impact generations.

Thank you for being part of this journey through your prayers, encouragement, and support. Together, we are investing in lives, communities, and communities transformed by the hope of Christ.

Sometimes a calling begins with something as simple as a map on a bedroom wall.

As a young boy, MSPF founder Fred Foy Strang would fall asleep looking at a wall-sized map of Africa. What began as fascination eventually became a lifelong calling to serve among the Maasai people of East Africa.

Over the years, Fred Foy, alongside Cecily and their sons, have built deep relationships within Maasai communities, learning from the people, sharing life together, and equipping local leaders through education, discipleship, and community development.

Since 1982, those relationships have grown into partnerships focused on education, healthcare, agriculture, leadership development, spiritual formation, and sustainable community growth. In 1990, Fred invited others to join that journey through the Maasai Special Projects Fund.

Today, that invitation remains the same.

Thank you to everyone who prays, gives, and serves alongside us. Together, we continue to walk with Maasai communities as they build a stronger future for generations to come.

As we begin June, we’ll be looking back at the story of MSPF and the many ways God has worked through relationships, faithfulness, and practical service over the years.

What started with a desire to walk alongside Maasai communities has grown into decades of partnership, friendship, and shared ministry. Through water projects, education, healthcare, outreach, and discipleship, we have seen God open doors that only He could open.

This month, we invite you to join us as we reflect on the people, moments, and milestones that have shaped MSPF’s journey. Thank you for being part of the story.

As we reflect on this past month, we are reminded again that water is life.

Throughout May, we shared about the many ways water impacts the communities MSPF serves across Kenya. From wells and cisterns to rain catchment systems, pipeline repairs, water purification training, and drought response efforts, each project represents both practical care and long term investment in community wellbeing.

We also shared some of the challenges that come with maintaining these systems, including drought, damaged infrastructure, and the ongoing need for repair and stewardship. Even so, we continue to see resilience, partnership, and hope within the communities we serve alongside.

Thank you for following these stories, praying with us, encouraging this work, and helping make these efforts possible. Every act of support helps communities gain greater access to safe and sustainable water sources.

We are grateful to continue walking alongside the Maasai communities God has connected us with and look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.

Water is more than a resource. It is connected to health, education, safety, food security, and opportunity.

In some areas where MSPF serves, families and livestock still rely on unsafe water sources shared with wildlife. In other places, older water systems have stopped functioning because of broken infrastructure or lack of access to repair materials.

One part of MSPF’s mission is walking alongside communities as they seek long-term, sustainable solutions. That includes helping repair existing systems, supporting local leadership, teaching sanitation practices, and equipping community members with practical skills to care for their own water infrastructure.

We are continually encouraged by the resilience, wisdom, and determination of the communities we serve alongside.

In many Maasai communities, access to clean water impacts nearly every part of daily life.

It affects the health of families, the care of livestock, the ability for children to attend school consistently, and the overall strength of a community.

Over the years, MSPF has worked alongside local leaders to support practical water solutions through pipeline repairs, water storage systems, sanitation education, and training community members in basic maintenance and repair.

The goal is not only to meet today’s need, but to help create systems that communities can continue to sustain for years to come.

We are thankful for each person who partners with MSPF to help bring clean water, dignity, and hope to communities across Kenya.

Some water projects in Maasai communities were built years ago with great hope, but over time many have fallen into disrepair. Broken pipes, damaged infrastructure, lack of supplies, and limited local resources have left some systems no longer operational.

At MSPF, we believe lasting impact comes through partnership with the community itself. Rather than simply bringing temporary solutions, we work alongside local leaders to help envision and support sustainable ways forward.

This includes training locals in basic water system repairs, helping communities develop shared funds for maintenance and parts, and providing education about clean water, sanitation, and hand washing.

As we are able, we also come alongside communities to help restore and revive past water projects, bringing new life to systems that once served so many families.

Clean water changes everything. And sustainable solutions begin with empowered communities.

Water supports more than people.

For many Maasai families, livestock are an important source of food and livelihood. Reliable access to water helps care for both families and the animals they depend on each day.

Sustainable projects require local leadership.

MSPF has helped train community members on basic pipeline repairs so they can care for and maintain water systems close to home. When repairs are needed, communities are better equipped to respond quickly.
