📖 BIBLE STUDY HIGHLIGHT | BACK TO THE BASICS

Last night at Mount Olive, we continued our Back to the Basics: Articles of Faith Bible Study with “The Fall of Man.”

Our journey took us back to Genesis 3 and the Garden of Eden, where we saw that God created man upright, gave Adam His Word, and placed him in a place of blessing. But when Adam disobeyed God, sin entered the world, and death came by sin.

One of the truths that stood out last night was how the enemy works:

🐍 First, he questioned God’s Word — “Yea, hath God said…?”
🐍 Then, he contradicted God’s Word — “Ye shall not surely die.”

And the same strategy is still being used today. The enemy wants us to question what God has already said.

We also saw what happened immediately after the Fall: shame, fear, hiding, and blame. Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves with fig leaves and hid from the presence of God—but God came calling:

“Adam… Where art thou?” — Genesis 3:9

🙌🏾 What a reminder: Adam was hiding, but God was calling!

The Fall teaches us why sin is so serious, why humanity cannot fix its own spiritual condition, and why we desperately need the grace of God.

And thank God, Genesis 3 is not the end of the story!

We’re taking our time with this study because sound doctrine matters. What we believe shapes how we worship, serve, pray, and live.

Join us next Wednesday as we continue The Fall of Man and go deeper into what Adam’s fall means for us today.
