1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

Hello, June!

A new month brings new opportunities to grow in faith, serve others, and experience God's goodness.

As we step into June, may we be reminded of the many blessings God has given us and the ways He calls us to share those blessings with the world around us.

"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." — Psalm 126:3

Join us this June for our sermon series "Blessed to Be a Blessing" as we discover the blessings God has given us and how we can use them to bless others.

We can't wait to worship, learn, and grow together this month at FPCVB. 💙

The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the words of Jesus: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Today, we pray for the families of the fallen, give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy, and remember those who served with courage and selflessness.

May we never forget their sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

1 Corinthians 12:3-13

3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Unity and Diversity in the Body

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body— whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Are you ready to transform your spiritual journey this summer? First Presbyterian Church is offering a Zoom Summer Small Group Study.

Beginning June 9th at 7:00pm, Dr. Tim will host a Zoom Summer Small Group Study on Tuesday's throughout the summer.

This small group time will be focused on getting to know one another as we study the lives of "Twelve Ordinary People" (i.e. the Apostles and the women around Jesus). The Zoom component will help ensure that our working families/couples/singles are able to participate.

Contact our church office today at 772.562.9088 to sign up! We are looking for a minimum of 10 to begin the Zoom Summer Small Group Study. Once the Small Group is started, in-person fellowship gatherings will also be offered.
