Nashville First Grade Teacher Banished from Classroom After Asking for Accommodation from Pro Same-Sex Marriage Book

The teacher has been reassigned and faced losing his job after asking another teacher to substitute, because he's a devout Christian who could not read two LGBT books to his first-grade class because they violated his religious beliefs.

"Requiring a teacher violate their religious beliefs in order to keep their job is blatant discrimination that violates the Civil Rights Act," said Cliff Martin, Senior Counsel at First Liberty Institute. "Our client cares deeply about his students and simply has a religious objection to teaching certain lessons and asked for a simple religious accommodation. The school has sent the message that anyone who has a traditional view of marriage is unfit to teach first grade."

First Liberty attorneys further explained that the school may be in violation of parental rights under the United States Constitution and Tennessee law, citing the recent Supreme Court decision in Mahmoud v. Taylor and Tennessee legislation requiring parental notification of "sexual orientation or gender identity curriculum."

US Amb. to Israel Mike Huckabee Teaches Tucker Carlson Some Truth About Israel & History:

“When I sat down with Tucker Carlson on Wednesday, I was expecting a thoughtful conversation and that he would ask questions and give me the opportunity to actually respond--just like he did with the little N**i sympathizer Nick Fuentes or the guy who thought Hi**er was the good guy and Churchill the bad guy. What I wasn't anticipating was a lengthy series of questions where he seemed to be insinuating that the Jews of today aren't really same people as the Jews of the Bible.

I'll first just say something I didn't think to say to Tucker, which is that Ashkenazi Jews, meaning those who families had spent centuries in Europe, are a minority of Israel's Jewish population, only maybe 35-40%. There are far more Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews inside Israel.

But there's a good reason, as it turns out, that I had never encountered this theory that Tucker kept pushing on. That’s because it comes from some of the darkest realms of the Internet and social media.

I think it's important to take a moment now and educate Tucker and anyone else who might get sucked in by this dangerous conspiracy theory, just as I have been educated this week.

I'm sharing this information because it has been weaponized by very bad people to delegitimize Jews and strip them of their history.

It's an idea that gained traction in the 80's and 90's with David Duke and other Klansmen and neo-N**is. It has really caught fire in recent years on the Internet and social media, mostly from some of the most overt anti-Semites and Jew haters you can find.

I don’t know why Tucker was so fixated on this, and I'm certainly not saying he knew the origins of this conspiracy theory. I don't know what's in his heart or what he was thinking.

But I do know that the discredited idea that most Ashkenazi or European Jews descended from the ancient Turkic kingdom of Khazaria is bunk. It's also been weaponized by people trying to deligitimize Jews, to strip them of their history, and to call them "imposters" or "fake Jews."

This odious conspiracy theory is peddled by the likes of Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes and by people who love David Duke, as well as Islamist accounts that make up false smears about Israel non-stop and are run out of countries like Pakistan and Turkey.

But we know from genetics and rich volumes of written literature that the Jews of today can trace their lineage back thousands of years to the Israel and the Jewish people of the Bible.

They are as connected together as genetics tell us that the ancient Khazar kingdom is to people living today in Turkey.

And if Tucker wants to tour more than Ben-Gurion Airport on his next trip to Israel, I'm happy to show him places where Jews have lived going back to the time of Jesus Christ and even earlier.

I sincerely hope Tucker will let me know when he actually wants to learn facts about the land and people. Asking me about conspiracy theories should remain on the fringes and not be the heart of the conversation.”

CBN News has acquired video showing Chinese special forces conducting a so-called "decapitation drill" only days after the U.S. forces arrested Venezuela's Nicholas Maduro. It was Beijing's message to Washington that it can do the same thing against Taiwan.

The successful U.S. raid on Venezuela has struck a major blow to China's Latin American strategy, according to China expert Gordon Chang.

"China has used Venezuela as its beachhead and is a very important country for China," Chang said. "China used Venezuela not only as a place to get cheap oil, but it also was a place very much for military pe*******on."

Jonathan Parnell, the lead pastor of Cities Church in St. Paul, responded to the Justice Department's announcement on Friday that former CNN host Don Lemon had been taken into custody.

Lemon was among the anti-immigration enforcement protesters who disrupted the church's Sunday worship service on Jan. 18 with chants of "ICE out!" and "Justice for Renee Good."

“We are grateful that the Department of Justice acted swiftly to protect Cities Church so that we can continue to faithfully live out the church’s mission to worship Jesus and make him known,” Parnell said.

The attorneys representing the church with True North Legal also responded to the arrest.

"The freedom to worship God without fear of violence and intimidation is a fundamental right that defines who we are as Americans. True North Legal and Cities Church are grateful that the Department of Justice is committed to upholding that freedom and is holding the agitators who invaded the church accountable," Renee Carlson and Doug Wardlow said.

Parnell told Lemon on video during the protest, "This is unacceptable. It's shameful to interrupt a public gathering of Christians in worship.”

Lemon countered, “There’s a Constitution and a First Amendment to [allow] freedom of speech and freedom to assemble in protest.”

Parnell responded, “We’re here to worship Jesus, because that’s the hope of these cities, that’s the hope of the world, is Jesus Christ.”

The pastor asked Lemon to leave the building.

The protesters said they interrupted the service because David Easterwood, who leads a local ICE field office, is an assistant pastor at the church.

However, ABC News reported that Easterwood was not overseeing Sunday’s worship service. It was not even clear whether he was present at the church during the Jan. 18 incident.

Lemon was taken into custody by federal agents on Thursday night in Los Angeles, where he was covering the Grammy Awards.

His attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a statement, “Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done.

“The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable,” the lawyer added.

“This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court," Lowell said.

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the arrest, posting on social media, "At my direction, early this morning federal agents arrested Don Lemon, Trahern Jeen Crews, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lydell Lundy, in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota."

The free exercise of religion, in addition to freedom of the press, is a right protected by the First Amendment.

The day after the church invasion, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon suggested during an interview with conservative podcast host Benny Johnson the charges the protesters, presumably including Lemon, may face.

“We will pursue charges in this case,” she confirmed. “Exactly what they are, I’m not going to flag, but the FACE Act has been mentioned as one of the predicates there.”

Fake. Numerous career prosecutors and law enforcement professionals were actively involved in building this case and remain so at this moment. So proud of our ’s teamwork across jurisdictions on this important case. https://t.co/BSTllXcPzQ

— AAGHarmeetDhillon () January 30, 2026

The FACE Act, in addition to protecting abortion clinics, makes it a crime to “intimidate or interfere with any person lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship.”

Dhillon also cited the Ku Klux Klan Act, which makes it illegal “to terrorize and violate the civil rights of citizens,” she said.

One man in Los Angeles is guilty of what could be called vigilante evangelism.

A now-viral video making the rounds on social media depicts an unidentified individual standing on a billboard platform painting over the word “not” on a large black-and-white sign declaring, “Jesus is not God,” transforming the billboard from communicating a heretical to evangelical message.

The group World’s Last Chance is behind the billboards, which have been seen in Southern California, Georgia, and other states across the country, according to The Christian Post. The group described the billboard as part of “four billboard themes that dare to shatter the chains of long-held misconceptions” about God, Jesus, and Christianity.
