Christ Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

We have been a part of Lake County since the 1980s when a group of individuals first started worshiping in the local school gymnasium. By 1988 we were able to open the doors of our current church building. Over the years we have developed a ministry presence that honors a partnership with individuals and families of diverse religious backgrounds. We are a part of the Reconciling in Christ communit

We are an energetic, accepting multi-generational congregation. Our mission is to offer a hospitable and sincere home for everyone on his or her faith journey – home where you can learn about God’s love and where we jointly discern and grow our relationship with God. Our Service:
We celebrate God’s love for all creation and we nurture our relationship with our community through acts of compassion and outreach. As part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we support hundreds of social ministry and humanitarian efforts throughout the area and across the globe. Our local efforts include support of Christian Outreach of Lutherans (COOL), pantries and programs in Waukegan and North Chicago, Sue's Pantry, Sarah's Circle, Love INC Lake County, Caring Hands/Project Linus, Feed My Starving Children, children’s advocacy programs through the Lake County Courthouse and more. O God, on this day you open the hearts of your faithful people by sending into us your Holy Spirit. Direct us by the light of that Spirit, that we may have a right judgment in all things and rejoice at all times in your peace, through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. —Bread for the Day

We grieve with the Muslim community in San Diego following the deadly shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

Houses of worship should be places of refuge, prayer, learning, and peace — never fear.

We pray for the victims, their loved ones, first responders, and all who are carrying shock and grief. We also stand in solidarity with our Muslim neighbors and reject hatred directed toward any faith community.

God of mercy, shelter all who are afraid. Strengthen all who work for peace. Teach us again how to love our neighbors well.
