Janamashtami Event
Friday 04th September 2026.
Hindu Temple Ventura

Dear Devotees,

Janmashtami is one of the biggest events at our temple, and many volunteers have spent countless hours preparing for this auspicious celebration. Here are the latest updates:

1. Deity Adornment & Decoration:
New clothing for all the deities arrived a few days ago, generously sponsored by the Kolachalam family. Our dedicated volunteers—Sudesh Ji, Pundit Ji, Vineeta, Shakun, Raj, Mahesh, Anil, Mantosh, Virender, Sunita, Santoshi, Saru, Namrata, and Induben—spent countless hours today dressing and decorating the deities with new clothing and jewelry. We also have new Bandanvaars (Torans) and a new front curtain. The altar looks amazing, and we are sure Lord Krishna will be pleased with His newly decorated home. Special thanks to Pundit Ji, who insisted on volunteering despite it being his official day off.

2. Friday Menu (Sponsored by Namaste Spiceland):
Namaste Spiceland has generously offered to provide Friday's menu:

- Starting at 4:00 PM: Chai and snacks
- Dinner: Makki ki roti, saag with white butter, Navratan Pulao, Dal Makhani, Aloo Jeera, Paneer Butter Masala, salad, fruit platter, gajrela, and puri

3. Dahi Handi:
We will have a Dahi Handi filled with candies for children to break, accompanied by the chanting of "Govinda Ala Re."

4. Special Display:
We have prepared a special prop depicting the jail cell, where Devaki and Vasudeva will emerge carrying Baby Krishna amid the sound of thunder and the chanting of welcoming devotees.

5. Vrat Food:
Vrat food is being prepared by the Patan Prajapati Samaj.

6. Raas Garba:
Raas Garba will be organized late in the evening in the parking lot by the Patan Prajapati Samaj.

Jai Shri Krishna, Har Har Mahadev.
Dear devotees, you will be pleased to know that a bus trip to visit four temples is departing from the Hindu Temple Ventura on Saturday, August 29th. Visiting temples during the holy month of Shravan is considered highly auspicious and spiritually rewarding.
The Shiva Purana states that during the month of Shravan, one should visit at least five consecrated (Pran-pratishthit) Shivlings or the twelve Jyotirlingas. Therefore, the itinerary includes stops at two temples in Bakersfield, one in Lancaster, and the Valley Hindu Temple in Northridge (Reseda), in addition to our own temple, which serves as the starting point.
The bus 🚌 will depart from the temple at 8:00 AM sharp and return to the Hindu Temple Ventura between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

Destinations:
Stop 1 >
42102 30th Street West,
Lancaster, CA 93536
Stop 2 >
