The River Community Church

The River Community Church Why do we call ourselves The River Community? We believe that churches ought to flow like a river and not sit motionless like a lake.

People that step into a lake generally exit from the same place they entered. But when a person enters a river they will always exit from a different place; which means that they have experienced movement by the current. Our goal is to move people further along their spiritual journey than when they first entered The River.

Romans 11 is a reminder to every believer that our faith did not begin with us. We have been grafted into something holy, ancient, and rooted in the promises God made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Apostle Paul warns the Church not to become arrogant, prideful, or forgetful of the root that supports us.

In this lesson on Romans 11:25-32, you will gain understanding of the mystery surrounding Israel's salvation and its implications for both Jews and Gentiles. Paul explains that Israel's hardening is only temporary, until the full number of Gentiles come in, leading to the salvation of all Israel.

At the end of the chapter, Paul bursts into worship. He declares that God's wisdom is deep, His ways are unsearchable, and that all things come from Him, exist through Him, and point back to His eternal glory.
Please join us this Sunday as Pastor Doug continues with the sermon series Ruin, Redeemed and Reborn.

Have you ever made a mistake, taken a wrong turn, or looked at your life and wondered, “Have I messed things up beyond repair?” We all have moments we wish we could change. But your worst moment does not have to become your final chapter. In Romans 11:11–24, Paul uses the picture of a tree and its roots to show us that a strong life depends on what is underneath it, not just what everyone can see. When life gets difficult, when we fail, or when everything we’ve depended on begins to change, what are we actually rooted in?

This Sunday we’ll talk about how God can bring something meaningful out of failure, disappointment, and even seasons when we’ve walked away from Him. We’ll also discover why none of us has a reason to look down on anyone else. Faith isn’t about being more religious, having your life together, or proving you’re a good person. It’s about discovering a God who welcomes imperfect people and offers them a new beginning. Whether you believe in God, have questions about faith, haven’t been to church in years, or simply want something solid to build your life on, there’s a place for you in this conversation.

How can a person be made right with God? Is salvation something we earn, or is it a gift we receive?
In Romans 10:5-13, the Apostle Paul reminds us that salvation is not based on our performance but on Christ’s finished work. Through faith in Jesus, God’s gift of grace is available to all who believe.
Join us this Sunday as we continue the series Ruin, Redeemed and Reborn, we will discover the beautiful simplicity and power of the gospel. We’ll explore three life changing truths”

Righteousness comes by faith, not by works
The gospel is simple enough for anyone to receive.
God’s invitation is for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.
Whether you’ve followed Christ for many years, are new to the faith, or are simply searching for answers, this message offers hope, assurance, and a reminder that no one is beyond God’s grace. Come expecting to be encouraged, challenged, and reminded that the gospel is not about climbing up to God, it’s about receiving what God has already brought down to us through Jesus Christ.
