Are you interested in community, transformation, and hearing God’s voice? Are you yearning for a safe place to share your heart? Lectio Ladies is an online group that uses the spiritual discipline of Lectio Divina (a Latin term meaning “Divine Reading”) to sink deep into a Bible passage and seek the wisdom of the divine. All are welcome to join us to meditate on scripture and journal whatever may surface.

Beginning September 12, 2026, Lectio Ladies will be meeting every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 10:30am via Zoom though our schedule is subject to change.

For more information on how to join this group, check out the link in the comments below.

Join us this Sunday as we continue our “God Breathed?” series. What does it look like to read the Bible as part of a bigger narrative with theology and teachings to build upon and expand? Erica Connell will walk us through an exploration of some “What Ifs”,  a peek into the depths of the question mark, and what it might mean to rethink everything we think we know about God’s Authority.

After the service, why not stick around for awhile? We’ve got drinks and goodies waiting for you in Berg Hall along with a puzzle to construct and lots of space to hang out and chat.

If you want to explore those questions and question marks from the message a bit more, then The Conversation is the place for you! A few minutes after service, we’ll be meeting in “The Alcove,” that cozy nook you’ve probably seen on the front left of the Sanctuary just before you enter Berg Hall. Erica will be leading the discussion and it is always a great time. Also, just a friendly reminder, we can’t have food or drinks in the sanctuary so be sure to finish up any refreshments in Berg Hall before joining The Conversation.

We can’t wait to see you at 4:00pm at 5654 Ralston St, or online at our page.

The Wayfarers will gather in person at 7pm in the Green Room at UU on the second and third Wednesdays of each month.

These evenings will provide space for contemplative practice, meaningful conversation, sharing life, and simply being together.

Around the anchor of those two monthly meetings, we’re creating a “menu” of other opportunities happening within and beyond Liminal. These could include Friendship Sangha of the Heart at the UU, Illuman at Padre Serra, New Life’s monthly worship night, Friday karaoke/social nights, and other opportunities as they emerge.

One of the ideas behind the shift is that Liminal doesn’t need to create or provide every opportunity for connection, spiritual formation, or community. There are already beautiful, life-giving things happening all around us, and we want to become more intentional about participating in them, learning from other communities, and building relationships outside our own walls.

Many of these outside gatherings are open across gender identities, while our second/third Wednesday Wayfarers gatherings and Illuman are specifically spaces for men.

Intrigued? Join us on the 2nd & 3rd Wednesday of each month and keep an eye out for the “menu” as it is released.

Our fearless Liminal Kids leader, Jen Hermann, getting things ready for the kids to arrive!

Today we’re wrapping up our Fruit of the Spirit curriculum. To explore love, joy, peace and the rest, we’ve decorated bananas, practiced yoga poses, explored our outdoor area, sung songs, played games, and created with paint and playdough.

Last week we learned about the final fruit of the Spirit, self-control, by making a craft that helped us learn a deep breathing technique. This week we’ll be doing a review of all of the fruits!

It’ll be a whole fruit salad of fun looking back at all the traits we’ve learned about. Who’s ready for Fruit Bingo?

And since today is Contemplative Sunday in the sanctuary, you can bring your preschoolers-5th graders straight to the kids’ room before the service begins. See you at 4pm!

Join us this Sunday for our monthly contemplative service led by Gini Downing. Gini will lead us through Psalm 139, using some of the tools and insights we have learned so far in our “God-Breathed?’“ series on reading the Bible afresh. As we slow down and look at this familiar Psalm, let’s see what comes to mind as we examine some of the verses together. Join us for what we hope will be not only a meaningful contemplative exercise, but also a chance to put into practice what we have been learning.

We’ll end our service together sharing communion where all are welcome at the table.

And, then head in to Berg Hall for refreshments. Pour yourself a cup of coffee or lemonade, grab a snack from our ever-changing basket of treats, and spend some time together.

We can’t wait to see you at 4:00pm at 5654 Ralston St, or online at our page.

Beginning September 13th, we’ll gather on the first Sunday of each month to slowly make our way through Thích Nhất Hạnh’s Living Buddha, Living Christ.

And when we say slowly, we mean slowly.

Rather than consuming chapters at a time, we’ll spend each month with just a few pages, giving the words room to settle and inviting them to move from our heads into our lives. Our gatherings will weave together conversation, portions of the audiobook, silence, and mindfulness practices including sitting, walking, and even eating.

Living Buddha, Living Christ brings Buddhist and Christian wisdom into conversation, exploring places where these ancient paths illuminate and enrich one another. In that same spirit, our time together will be less about arriving at the “right” interpretation and more about listening deeply, practicing together, and remaining curious about what these wisdom traditions might reveal about ourselves, one another, and the Divine.

A Contemplative Book Circle. 1st Sunday of each Month, Starting Sept. 13 @ 2:30pm. ‘[Thich Nhat Hanh] shows us the connection between personal, inner peace, and peace on earth.’ - The Dalai Lama.
