Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus—a feast that turns our hearts back to Christ’s infinite love and the saving mercy that flows from His very Person.

At our retreat center, we invite you to spend a little time with the Heart of Jesus in prayer and renewal—especially by praying for mercy and reparation, and by entrusting your life (and family) to Him through a personal or family consecration.

As the Bishops of the United States consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart this week, we invite you to likewise renew your confidence in the Lord’s providential care for us all and resolve to glorify his love in all you do.

“Heart of Jesus, make my heart like Yours—full of love, mercy, and trust.”

Beautifying the Holy Family Statue

Thank you to Marcia Auth for her generosity and care for our sacred grounds!

Through her thoughtful gift, the Holy Family Statue has been beautifully landscaped and transformed into a peaceful place for prayer and reflection—a quiet space where retreatants can pause, encounter the Lord, and rest in His presence.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the update of our 30-year-old water system! We’ve made incredible progress—and the sulfur smell is gone!

So far, we have:
Replaced multiple pumps at our wells and treatment plant
Installed new filtration systems to improve water quality throughout
Updated underground piping and key plumbing components
Upgraded control panels, wiring, and electrical systems
Repaired and replaced valves, filters, and backflow preventers
Replaced water softeners

Still to come:
Replacing the pump on our second well
Rebuilding the concrete housing that protects our electrical connections

Because of your generosity, our water system is now safer, cleaner, and more reliable for all who visit.

Thank you to Michelle Murray for her incredible generosity!

During a retreat at OLPH, she noticed the deteriorating condition of our prayer decks and felt called to help. Through her generosity, not only were the decks replaced, but the bridges as well—restoring these sacred spaces for all who come here to pray and encounter the Lord.

After a year of dedicated work the project was finally completed. Made possible by our faithful volunteer maintenance crew— Derek Baiz, Mike Day, Chuck Hammerle, Tony Hopfinger, John Myer.

On April 21, Michelle returned to OLPH for the blessing of each of these renewed spaces, a beautiful moment of gratitude and grace for all involved.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the Pentecost.

Pentecost is God’s “wind and fire” moment for the Church—when the Holy Spirit fills believers and forms one people from many languages.

“Repent… and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

This gift doesn’t only ignite us in the moment—it prepares us for the mission: devoting ourselves to prayer, breaking bread, and living communion.

This Pentecost, consider carving out time for silence, prayer, confession (if needed), and renewal—so the Holy Spirit can pour out fresh courage and clarity into your life.

Thank you to all of our hardworking volunteers!

From serving our retreatants and washing dishes to answering phones, assisting in the gift shop, and caring for the grounds and flower beds—your generosity reflects the love of Christ in all you do. Our small staff would be lost without you.

We wish everyone could have joined us at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. For those who were unable to attend, please know how deeply grateful we are for you.

On Ascension Day, we celebrate Jesus entering the Father’s heavenly kingdom—and giving us hope of where we are called to follow. Though hidden from our eyes, Christ reigns at the Father’s right hand, and His kingdom “will have no end.”

Today is a beautiful reminder to step away from distractions, spend time in prayer, and reflect on where God is leading us. Whether through quiet prayer at home or even making a retreat, taking time apart with the Lord renews our hearts and strengthens our hope.

As we remember Jesus being taken from sight, may we lift our eyes and hearts toward heaven with renewed faith and peace.

We are excited to announce that we are commissioning a new rosary designed specifically to showcase our retreat center!

Each rosary will feature a replica of the crucifix in the chapel and the Shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. We would love your help deciding which statues on our property should be represented on the Our Father beads.
