Cailleach Bhéara, the Old Hag, who was turned to stone last May Day, returned to life as the Sun set over a chilly, moody, bleak Eire, marking the beginning of Samhaim, the holiday that in post-pagan times has become Halloween. The boundary between the land of the living and that of the dead is less clean tonight than any other so disguise yourself this eve to hide from those who died with a bone to pick, or are just plain malicious.

20 September – The Senior Championship Finals will be streamed live for local Irish pagan sports fans at the Rose Grove on Venice Beach beginning at about 8 am. This FREE event is part of the local Pagan Outreach program. Non-Irish are welcome too.
All are reminded that gambling and drinking are both illegal on Venice Beach, as is public brawling. Also there will be an outdoor AA meeting in progress a few hundred yards from the Rose Grove as the game begins. None of this, of course, is of other than humorous interest to the Irish.
Although all are welcome Dublin fans are asked to be respectful of the Kerry celebrations after the game.
If you are attending remember to pin you medical insurance card to you shirt just in case.
