What happens when the life God calls us to doesn’t look anything like the life we expected?

This week we explore the reality of following Jesus through the stories of Jeremiah and Peter—two people whose calling collided with disappointment, suffering, and uncertainty.

Following Jesus doesn’t mean that life will always be easy or that we’ll understand where the road is leading. Sometimes, our calling becomes most real when our plans fall apart and God asks us to keep following.

We're reminded that calling isn’t reserved for just pastors or religious professionals. Through the priesthood of all believers, God calls each of us to love and serve our neighbors in the ordinary moments of everyday life.

The question isn’t simply, “What do I want to do?” but “Where is Jesus calling me to love my neighbor?”

And the good news is that when the road gets difficult, Jesus doesn’t ask us to walk it alone. He goes first—through rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection—and calls us to follow behind him.
