Encouraging Words by Brian Bolt
“Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day.” Discouraging words are all about what we hear today, when you think of it? When people speak those words of encouragement then peace will be present. Peace will be evident.

The Place of Immunity by Stephanie Oefinger
Our journey in life and battle we face are too great without the strength that only God can give us. Our highest purpose is to give pleasure to God. Without His focus, and this focus in our life, we lose touch with the presence of God, we lose complete touch with Him. How do we get back on the path.

Grace, Grace, Marvelous Grace by Theresa Sacco
Grace was so abundant at the Conference at DVCCR at the Retreat Center in Venice, FL. All were waiting and receiving the Word from the Lord for them personally. It was so rich. It was like 50 years of the Charismatic Renewal, the Holy Spirit, all in these hours, the Lord… the people who were obedient to this, obedient to the grace that He was pouring out.

Sloth Creeping into our Lives by Alice Keough
Sloth is almost insidious. If our life doesn't have meaning, we can't find meaning. When the sense of God is lost. There is also a tendency to lose the sense of man, his dignity and his life. We are made to live life to the full, to live with joy. To live life without that passion and joy, can be a slothful life.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Happy New Year, and may you have a truly blessed Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord.

As we enter the New Year, we can pause to look back with gratitude and look ahead with hope. In this way too, the turning of the year invites us once again to place our trust in God.

This is why the Word of God calls us to seek the Lord’s blessing as we begin this new chapter, drawing inspiration from the Book of Numbers, Chapter 6: "May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace."

As a parish family, we know that the work of salvation and the proclamation of the Gospel continue. We share too, in the joyful expectation of the completion of the Cathedral renovation, echoing our desire to grow as a parish.

Each of us is called to serve as the Heart and Hands of Christ, attentive to one another and faithful in service. As we move forward in the New Year, may we commit ourselves to prayer, the sacraments, and care for our young people, who contribute greatly to the life of our community today.

May this New Year be a time of grace and peace for us all. May the Lord bless our parish, guide our ministries and grant us joy as we continue to serve together as the Heart and Hands of Christ. Amen.

Msgr. Patrick
