☀️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING: TUESDAY – FRIDAY ☀️
Attention Prairie River Parish community: An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Central Illinois, running from today (Tuesday) through Friday.

With temperatures and heat indices expected to reach dangerous levels, please take extra precautions to keep yourself, your family, and your neighbors safe.

🛑 Stay Safe with These Key Reminders:
Hydrate Often: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. Avoid excessive caffeine or sugar.

Stay Indoors: Limit strenuous outdoor activities, especially during peak afternoon heating hours (10 AM - 4 PM).

Check on Others: Please take a moment to check in on elderly family members, neighbors, and those vulnerable to the heat.

Protect Pets: Ensure your pets have plenty of fresh, cold water and a cool, shaded place to rest. Never leave pets or children in a parked car.

Let’s look out for one another this week. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance or a cool place to rest, please reach out to local community resources or parish leadership.
