The season of Advent is upon us. We, the St. James Church Family anticipates with great expectations a spirit of hope, peace, joy, and love for the Vandemere community.

This is on my mind:
Although, the special day of Thanksgiving has ended, please remember this evening and morning that God has made to be a new day is still a day of thanksgiving.

Today is known as Black Friday across the USA. This day is set to entice whosoever will to come and buy so called reduced and/or discounted items for Christmas.

As I give thought to and meditate on "Black Friday" my mind went back to a day that is called "Good Friday." On "Good Friday" according to good record keeping (the Bible) at 3:00 pm a "good man" a "good shepherd" paid for all people, places, and things for such a time as "Black Friday. This "Good Shepherd" made what could have been a "Black Friday" 100% free for the "whosoever will let them come." This "Good Shepherd" found it not robbery to go all the way. After paying for whatever it cost on the cross, this "Good Shepherd went on a layaway plan for us. He was placed in a storage box called a tomb. But late in the midnight hours (the hours between the end of the night and the beginning of daylight) the "Good Shepherd' began to twist and turn or twist and shout. The "Good Shepherd" got up, rose up, stood up and walk into the "Good" new day known to us as "Sunday." This "Good Sunday" became known as "Resurrection Day." This "Resurrection Day" is the receipt that the "Good Shepherd" left for the "whosoever will let them come" for such a time as "Black Friday."

Just remember the gift of the "Only begotten" was a free gift for every day of our lives.
