There is something special about gathering together as the body of Christ. A place to worship, a place to be encouraged, a place to lay down what we’ve carried all week, and a place to be reminded of the goodness of God.

No matter what this past week looked like, today is a new day.

Come as you are. Bring your family. Bring your burdens. Bring your praise.

What a beautiful Sunday at First Church of God!

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating Justin as he took the next step in his faith through baptism!

Baptism is such a powerful outward expression of an inward decision—a public declaration of choosing to follow Jesus. There is something so special about watching someone step into the water and boldly say, “I belong to Him.”

Justin, we are so proud of you and excited to see where the Lord leads you from here. Our church family is praying for you, cheering you on, and thankful to walk alongside you as you continue to grow in your faith.

Congratulations, Justin! What a day worth celebrating!

What a special moment to celebrate 💙 and what an awesome way to start a new school year!

Another one of our youth, Wyatt, made the decision to publicly declare his faith through baptism—and even more special, he was baptized by his Nana, Kara!

Wyatt, we are so proud of you and this step you have taken in your walk with Jesus. We are excited to watch you continue to grow in your faith, discover all that God has for you, and live boldly for Him.

Tonight, we’re taking prayer outside the walls of the church and into our community. ❤️

With a new school year right around the corner, we’ll be gathering at the **Vandalia High School tonight at 6:00 PM** to pray over our schools, students, teachers, staff, administrators, and families.

We’ll pray for protection, wisdom, peace, and guidance as they step into a new year—and most importantly, that God’s presence would be felt throughout our schools.

There is power in prayer, and what a privilege it is to come together as a church family and cover our schools in it.

And just like that… school supplies are being purchased, backpacks are being packed, and parents are wondering how summer went by THAT fast. 😂📚

But we’ve got some good news: Wednesday evening children’s programming will be starting back up at 1COG! 🙌
