TEMPLE TUESDAY | September 8, 2026

The Vancouver Washington Temple is nearly fully dried in after crews installed the exterior doors, windows and most of the waterproofing this past week, just ahead of the storms. The waterproofing worked as intended through the rain.

Inside, the third floor is now sheetrocked and painted as crews begin installing HVAC equipment. Framing for one of the temple’s barrel ceilings is complete, and work is beginning on another in the sealing room.

Two additional containers of exterior stone arrived this week, while stone installation continues around the southeast corner of the temple.

TEMPLE TUESDAY | September 1, 2026

The exterior stone mock-up on the northwest corner of the Vancouver Washington Temple is nearing completion as crews finish grouting the stone before it is reviewed by the architect. Crews are also installing stone on the southwest corner, where it is visible from SE 20th Street.

All of the windows are now installed, including the large celestial and sealing room windows, as well as the steeple windows. The windows on the north and south ends are scheduled for water testing this week.

Inside, work on the interior walls continues on the third floor, while the north end of the first floor is almost ready for sheetrock. In the baptistry, watertightness testing of the font is complete and the water has been drained. Ceiling framing is now in progress.

🧷 Meeting a Growing Need

Did you know Clark County Food Bank is now home to the only Diaper Bank of Southwest Washington?

Since 2018, the program has provided more than 1.5 million diapers to families across Clark County. When the program needed a new home, it transitioned to Clark County Food Bank, so this essential resource could continue serving local families.

Today, more than a dozen community distribution sites help provide free diapers to families who need them.

Need diapers? Visit our Food Finder to find participating Diaper Bank partners near you. 💚

TEMPLE TUESDAY | August 25, 2026

On the south side of the Vancouver Washington Temple, the final piece of glass in the large sealing room window is now set in place. Exterior cladding now surrounds the window, while crews are grouting the stone on the west side of the temple.

Inside, sheetrocking continues on the third floor. New construction lighting was installed in the sealing and celestial rooms to provide additional light as interior work continues.

At the maintenance building, insulation is finished and sheetrock work is underway. Crews are also connecting controls and other components to the chiller, part of the temple’s cooling system.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has responded to the Washington fires through welfare assistance, food programs, volunteering, and many other efforts.
The Church had 3 truckloads delivered to different areas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6RVay3aNNs). They are currently serving 650+ shelter residents and broader fire-affected communities. They have helped individuals and families with lodging.
