URGENT: Cold Weather Emergency - Volunteers Needed Now
With temperatures dropping, we're sheltering 44 guests at the WHO—and welcoming 6 more tonight to get them out of the dangerous cold.

We need YOU to help us stay open this New Year's weekend:

🎉 New Year's Eve: 2 meal teams + 3 volunteers (6-9:30 pm)
🎊 New Year's Day: 8 volunteers throughout the day to keep doors open
🌙 Jan 2: Overnight shifts available
We want to stay open on New Year's Day, but we need volunteers to make it happen. Give the gift of warmth and rest to neighbors who have no other place to go.

Wednesday was a full day! The youth had their final service project working with the North County Food Pantry. This great organization not only has a well run pantry but also provides breakfast and lunch to their guests twice a week! With such a busy place, and a full garden to supply fresh fruits and veggies, they haven’t been able to do upkeep of their picnic tables. These tables are used regularly for these meals or guests to relax in the shade with their dogs when they come to visit.

The afternoon rest was highlighted with a trip to one of the city pools. It happened to be a family promotional night which included treats from an ice cream truck! I could not have planned for a better end to our day than this surprise to all of us.
