What are you called to do—and who are you called to be?

God’s calling is bigger than a job title or ministry role. Through Baptism, Jesus calls us His own and sends us into our everyday lives to love and serve the people around us. Our homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and relationships become places where God works through ordinary people for the good of others.

This week, we explore vocation and calling and what it means to faithfully live as people sent by Jesus.

What a great beginning to our Confirmation journey at St. John! 🙌

Today, our students gathered for the first time alongside their parents and mentors—people who will intentionally walk with them, encourage them, pray for them, and help them grow as followers of Jesus.

Together, we explored “The Journey with Jesus” and some of the gifts God gives us along the way:

• The Holy Spirit — our Guide
• Holy Scripture — our Map & Sustenance
• The Catechism & Journal — our Compass
• Friends & Family — our Fellow Hikers

That last one matters. Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. Our students are surrounded by parents, mentors, friends, and a church family who get to walk alongside them as they learn, ask questions, grow in faith, and live out what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.

Confirmation is more than completing a class or learning information. It’s an opportunity to grow deeper in God’s Word and prayer, become more rooted in Jesus, and learn to walk faithfully with Him alongside others.

We’re grateful for every student, parent, mentor, and leader stepping into this journey together. What a gift to see generations following Jesus side by side. ❤️

Tomorrow is the due date for school supplies to help students at Sarah J Anderson Elementary. Many items have already arrived (thank you, Church!!). We look forward to more tomorrow.

At the close of yesterday’s service, we took a door offering to help relief efforts around Appleton, Wisconsin. The funds will go to Shepherd’s Heart Disaster Response as they train local disciples to work in chainsaw crews to restore order by removing downed trees and debris. The way this opens people to spiritual ministry is amazing. You can follow the efforts of Shepherd’s Heart on Facebook. Thank you for everyone who gave a gift yesterday.
