Union Chapel Vancouver

Union Chapel Vancouver We are a church in downtown Vancouver, Washington. Dedicated to being a community centered on the gospel and serving our city.

Union Chapel began in August of 2016, as two churches (Calvary Downtown and House of Providence) became one church. We are a people that committed to being the faithful presence of Christ to our each other, our neighbors and the world.

The toddler room will still be open, but otherwise, classrooms will be closed and we are inviting churchgoers of all ages to participate in a service that has been designed to celebrate the beauty of worshipping together across generations.
Head in a little early, iced coffee is back! And, there will be a hot cocoa bar set up for the kiddos, so that they have a special Sunday morning treat too.

Looking for resources to support your child’s faith journey? This gathering is designed to encourage and resource you as you cultivate a life with God at home. Together, we’ll explore various children’s Bibles, meaningful books for both kids and parents, and liturgy books. We’ll also host a Q&R panel with some of our parents in the community, creating space for honest questions, real-life conversations, and shared wisdom. Come be encouraged, equipped, and reminded—you don’t have to do this alone. This isn’t about getting it “right,” but about growing together. You can signup on planning center!
Link to join the group is in our bio under announcements- there is a $30 fee that will cover the cost of childcare. Contact Heather with any questions or for help signing up, the group fee can be paid by cash or check at the first group meeting. [email protected]

Child dedications are a sacred opportunity for our community to come alongside parents. As parents commit to raising their children to follow the way of Jesus, as a community, we mutually commit ourselves to the shared work of spiritual formation and relational stability. In this moment, we acknowledge that the shaping of a child’s life in Christ is not carried by families alone, but is held within the steady, faithful presence of a community learning to follow Jesus together.

We will be offering child dedications during our service on May 10th, Mother’s Day. If you would like to participate, or if you have questions about what child dedication involves, please reach out to Heather Klug at [email protected].

Did you know that there is a group of young adults that meets up bi-monthly at Union Chapel for social connection!? Yep. And they want to spread the word!
Who qualifies as a “young adult”?
This group is much more interested in providing a welcoming space for folks in this general stage of life than they are in restricting participation based on a number. So, if you hear “young adult” and feel like in general terms that applies to you, you are on the right track (hint: if the thought “I’m young at heart” crossed your mind while reading this, you probably do not qualify as a “young adult” 😉).
The dates that the group meets each month vary, so the best way to get connected is to contact Jayne Engeleau and let her know you would like to be added to the communications list- +1 (408) 356-5087

This week, we’re beginning a series called “Language of the Soul: Lenten Prayers from the Heart of the Psalms”. The Psalms are honest prayers — full of grief, anger, longing, confession, gratitude, and even the cry of feeling forsaken. They give voice to the full range of human experience, reminding us that nothing we feel is outside the reach of prayer. Our hope is that in spending time in these Psalms throughout the Lenten season, we will gain new language for expressing our souls to God in prayer.
