Today we had our FIRST CHURCH SUNDAY - it's something we've been doing since the beginning of the year. A bit of a play on words as it typically happens the first Sunday of the month and we're trying in our own way to emulate the first church (early Christian church) pattern of everyone coming with a word, testimony, song, encouragement, etc.
We have a theme each month - Scripture readings, Communion and a small fellowship meal after the service.
Today's topic was HOSPITALITY.
What a great service.
I was encouraged and challenged to be more INTENTIONAL about being hospitable to people.
We narrowed it down that being "hospitable" is to be WELCOMING. Caring for the needs of others.
We can do this with our own person - are we a welcoming person? Do we draw people in by our "vibe" or "repel" them?
We can do this with our home. How can we be more hospitable with what the Lord has given to us?
We can be welcoming in our church.
Even small little touches can make someone feel seen, cared for and welcomed.
What about you?
Your person, your home, your church?
Or you can even expand it a little.
Is your workspace welcoming?
What about your car? LOL - yes, even your car can be a place to show hospitality.
Just think about it.
Wherever we are can be a place of welcome, peace and some place that people feel cared for.
Practice hospitality!!
